umh how did you get it?
ooh North America only.
Giuseppe can I ask? Do you understand the marketing of this game? :D There was like 1 gameplay video since Q1 2014, and now, 1 month before release, they give us tons of cool gameplay videos :) :D
It's actually a pretty interesting tactic, my useless degree in brand management helps here.
Most game devs do marketing wrong. They show you a TON close to the announcement, and then go limbo, or oversaturate the channels for two straight years. By when they get close to release, the hype is dead.
On the other hand, showing very little until the very last moment has the potential to create more hype at the right time, IE: when the game is actually available for purchase.
They have done the same with Bloodborne.
Of course it's not surefire, but marketing always involves a degree of risk.
PS4 Master Race!
.Ps4 Master Race!
Ps4 Master Race!....
Ps4 Master Race!...
Ps4 Master Race!..
Ps4 Master Race!
They've done really well with marketing especially during the last few weeks and now, stopping by today to pay this off.
Good stuff!
My god it's an Ordergasm!!! Thanks for all the awesome information! :)
Im still finding it hard to spend money on this but I hope others enjoy this, I simply cant
I would've loved to enjoy a game like this on 60fps and the highest graphical fidelity possible on a pc. Just imagine what it would be like. But I neither own a pc that can do this nor will there ever be a port. I really look forward to playing this anyway and to the divinely gorgeous games that will be made in the future using ready at dawn's engine.
I'm pretty sure that the game is already on the highest graphical fidelity possible.
Nah it isn't. I'm a PS4 only guy but if it were a PC game it would be much better graphically.
Planetside 2 is on Ultra settings on PS4. RAD took their time to optimize the game. Although it's just a theory, I think it's still on the maximum graphical options possible.
What we're ALL saying is, any game on the PS4 will NEVER be the highest graphical fidelity possible. Even if Planetside 2 on the PS4 is similar to Ultra on PC, it means that the game isn't made originally to be that graphically advanced hence being the same as on the PS4. Besides, texture resolution can never even exceed 1080p (except when downscaled) on the PS4.
"Highest graphical fidelity possible" is a moving goalpost anyways, so you're all wasting your time arguing about it. By that logic, you should never release a game because delaying it 8 months would give you more time to polish and wait for faster hardware.
Reminds me of the old adage in my industry, "films are never finished, they're just released."
*sigh* I mean "graphical fidelity" as in visual quality/effects... I don't mean resolution/AA...
Nah. The PS4 games will never be on par with the PC version on the high end PCs. Even less more the time goes on, with new more powerful GPU coming out.
You mean $300 in GPU's alone up against a $400 console? With the "crappy" CPU that the PS4 has (apparently to the elitists), then Planetside 2 wouldn't be on Ultra at all. But it is. My point is, is that it has the highest graphical settings besides resolution/AA. People need to get over it.
No, I mean even with the $1500 GPUs. Plus the latest i7 CPU or what else is out there. I personally don't care about it, as long as a game runs at 1080p with a locked 30fps and a good AA I am fine (oh, yeah, And no tearing at all. I can stand a low frame rate, I just hate tearing. It gives me nausea. Literally). And sure I don't feel like to fork out more than 400-500 euro to play games.
But it is undeniable that a system with 3x the computing power can get games with a much better defined graphics. If you check any Face Off in Digital Foundry you'll see that the (high end) PC is obviously always the winner. Still no matter how much they spend right now I doubt they can get on PC a game looking as beautiful as the CGI movie "How to train your dragon 2". And let's forget about Avatar... lol
30 FPS isn't low. 20 FPS is low. As for the rest, I mostly agree, but the PS4 is like a PC the majority of the world owns. Majority of PC's that people have are worse than PS4 hardware.
It isn't. The Ps4 is a great machine but it lacks the power to run this game at its full graphical potential. Since it is an exclusive on Ps4, you might argue that the graphical fidelity is the highest on it since there is no other port of the game. But it isn't the highest fidelity'possible' .
In theory a lot of exclusive games on console are on their maximum graphics potential. Planetside 2 on PS4, for example, is the equivalent to Ultra on PC. That's what I meant.
I can see where you are going with this post. It would truly look even more spectacular with the newest PC tech no doubt. Consoles aren't and never will be any type or form of competition to the PC. However, there is something I am noticing that I like very much and that is PC games appearing on consoles! Now that the PS4 is more powerful than the PS3 with x86 architecture the PC and PS4/X1 are like brothers and console gamers are reaping the benefits.
From what I see I am very happy about the way it looks. And it looks like that because Sony gave all its support to refine this game. If it was going to be published for PC it was probably out already most likely half broken.
well, imagine while we can play it
I have a Ps4...and I will buy it, play it and enjoy it. Whats your point ? I'm not a PC elitist. I merely expressed my opinion.
You can get a free PS4 "The Order 1886" theme by exploring the website. I got mine. 2/17.
