Now he and his 'aiding-and-abetting-a-fugitive' mother can both suffer from prisonenza.

Luc S. • 8 years ago

Please let it be a Mexican prison for a while

Rubber Cow • 8 years ago

I think they have a cure for affluenza in Mexican prisons.

chateau margaux • 8 years ago

The Ethan Couch family is like the poster family for white privilege, wouldnt you agree? They are GOP darlings.

The article forgot to mention that the father was arrested for impersonating a police officer.

Thanks for completing the story.

Liz • 8 years ago

It sounds like like they're the poster family for inbreeding.

KP AD • 8 years ago

you can buy anything you want in a Mexican prison, provided you have the money

Mike Malone • 8 years ago

This story makes it for top 10 "feel good" stories for 2015.
Karma will always get you. Van der sloot is another example.

Honor is most important people. Do the right thing and you'll be fine in life.

Mike Malone • 8 years ago

Look how easily and quickly Mexicans are assisting with deporting a fugitive back to the US. The right thing to do.

yet the Mexicans and Latinos in the US complain when Trump wants to do the same thing in the US. Why? Hypocrisy much?

Liz • 8 years ago

Y'all were crying when they were fast enough deporting the Marine who illegally carried firearms into their country.

Rinse, repeat, Mikey.

Mike Malone • 8 years ago

even but plugs? He's going to need one.

Dave Cuthbert • 8 years ago

Oh, quite the contrary! If one has money he lives well in a Mexican prison. A better cell, better food, protection, and women.

Rafael Sanchez • 8 years ago

He'd better bring a lot of Preparation H.

At least until his hair color returns to normal. We want to be sure we got the right guy.

w8ofwater • 8 years ago

There is clearly a two-tiered justice system in this country, based on hair color.

Rafael Sanchez • 8 years ago

It doesn't appear to be working for Bill Cosby.

jim davis • 8 years ago

In the meantime, we should find his defense attorney, the judge that let him off, and a couple of ropes plus a good sturdy tree branch...

Michael Martin • 8 years ago

I'm sure his parents would make sure his branch was the weakest and his ropes were the longest and the least tight.Besides I'm sure the judge is long gone.He did retire after this case.Interesting fact that isn't discussed in this article.

Now you understand why we house prisoners in Cuba.

Luc S. • 8 years ago

What in the world are you talking about?

On what planet does that make sense?

Art Aficionado • 8 years ago

Luc, your comment about leaving them in a Mexican jail is equally nonsensical.

Luc S. • 8 years ago

Where do you think prisoners awaiting extradition are held?

Disneyland?

Rafael Sanchez • 8 years ago

Only if they are illegal Mexicans in this Country.

Luc S. • 8 years ago

Clearly.

Thus the billions spent on prisons and detention centers to hold them.

w8ofwater • 8 years ago

imitation is the sincerest form of nonsense.

Pat Morgan • 8 years ago

Actually they will have to spend some time in a Mexican jail until they are extradited to the US that is the normal process

5ubutai • 8 years ago

Art, are you saying that Gitmo is nonsensical?

Wandering_Wotan • 8 years ago

You're absolutely right. GITMO makes no sense to any of us including you.

chateau margaux • 8 years ago

now you understand how a lack of justice characterizes our courts?

African Americans shot by police for being in the wrong neighborhood, while affluenza kid drives over 4 people while drunk and no prison time?

Do Repubs think there is a vaccine for this disease of Affluenza they have?

Sincere Ironic • 8 years ago

You beat me to it. I guess he thought dying his hair black would help him blend in or something.

paul robinson • 8 years ago

he dyed his hair to look younger

Liz • 8 years ago

Dying your hair dark usually makes you look older.

paul robinson • 8 years ago

I gave it a shot.............

Observe Reason • 8 years ago

In this case he just looks like a dark haired punk.

As one of the militant Atheists & hard lefties on these forums I have to ask,

1) What does religion have to do with anything that happened here?
2) What does race have to do with anything that happened here?

It's a rich kid, using the wealth & power of their families connections, to escape the consequences of their actions. A story which is quite frankly older than anything of Homer's. I think you are reaching, & then some.

Frank Smith • 8 years ago

Most of us in a situation like this would have a public defender who would encourage us to accept a plea bargain which would include a lot of jail time.

The rich kid gets an expensive lawyer and a psychologist to convince the judge that because he is rich he never learned self control and gets a slap on the wrist.

We see the injustice of this.

Laura Cattell • 8 years ago

Well it is Texas.

Mike Malone • 8 years ago

Do you also see in injustice of Clapper committing perjury and not getting jail or Hillary lying to people and still being in the pres race? Or the banksters defrauding Americans and not being punished?
