Let's get him on there by St Patty's Day. The sooner the better! Plus it would make the Dems heads explode. Nice twofer!

sam savage • 7 years ago

I'm ready for them to admit him today. We've been watching them lie cheat and steal for the last eight years. Let's bypass all the whining, lies and name calling and riots and just put him to work.

The Constitution does not require a super majority vote for any Presidential nomination.

The filibuster is a Senate Rule. It is not a law and it is not based on any Constitutional Section.

While both parties honored this rule, it may have been useful.

But when the Dems blew it up to pack the Federal courts 3 years ago, the filibuster died.

Why the GOP bothers to retain it at all now is only a demonstration of their timidity to use power -- a problem the Dems don't have.

They should finish the job the Dems started, and benefit from it.

Because as sure as Pelosi uses Botox, the Dems will do exactly that the instant they are again the majority in the Senate to prevent the GOP from stopping anything they want to do.

Katfish223 • 7 years ago

And that Pelosi is a nutty brawler, she would slap the pants off of Mitch McConnell an Lindsey Graham with one arm loose from her straitjacket !

Give the Dims one chance, one day to play their games, then invoke the Reid option and confirm with 51 votes. Enough of playing Schumer's games. It's time to get serious about governing. Let the Dims play their games.......they only have until 2018 anyway.

Use the nuclear option to pass Trump's cabinet nominees and seat two or three
new conservative Supreme Court Justices. Then nullify the nuclear option
by statute so it can never be used again.

The resultant liberal head explosions would make the Fourth of July pale in comparison.

Give the Republicans a chance and they create a new rule that they don't give a nominee a hearing in the last year of the president's term that is if he is a democrat.

cjjf • 7 years ago

LOL, it has nothing to do with a republican rule, it goes back to Democrat Senator Joe Biden.

Brawny60 • 7 years ago

I believe he's trying to be ironic with the name. He isn't serious.

jcfriday • 7 years ago

The Republicans were going by the Democrat Biden rule. What rock have you been sleeping under.

Democrats have short memories but long hatred.

3DOTNEWSCOM • 7 years ago

Why wait. Why give the libs the opportunity to whine for months. NUCLEAR OPTION. Use the Democrats own creation against them.

PegasusSS • 7 years ago

THANKS, HARRY REID!!!

wombat1951 • 7 years ago

Man up GOP. Push the schedule. If and when the Dems try to filibuster, let them. If they succeed, then change the rules and take the vote to the floor.

Use power for a change like Democrats do. Don't be embarrassed.

sam savage • 7 years ago

Exactly. Time to keep moving.

John Doe • 7 years ago

Exactly!

Hobbes_Wayne • 7 years ago

Any ideological causes were overridden in the last election. Lynch was approved based on her qualifications and her ideological causes endorsed lawlessness. Now the democrats want to decide based on ideological causes and not qualifications or the Constitution. The hypocrisy and duplicity fills the air like a sewer stink.

Secret Squirrel • 7 years ago

As long as he's on the bench before the next Supreme Court session starts. It's time to end the 4-4 decisions.

Thelonious • 7 years ago

That should have ended a year ago.

sam savage • 7 years ago

Your point?

Thelonious • 7 years ago

Is that it should have ended a year ago.

Guest • 7 years ago
Thelonious • 7 years ago

Because a qualified candidate was nominated.

Ignoring all the obvious situational differences, at the time of these examples the GOP maintained that what the Democrats were saying/doing was wrong. For them to turn around and the do exactly what they railed against doesn't exactly show much integrity.

Ron Rincon • 7 years ago

Payback

Thelonious • 7 years ago

Oh good. Legislation by vendetta. As we know, all quality democratic leaders keep an enemies list.

Masr99 • 7 years ago

Confirmation is not legislation.

Doesn't the Constitution set the rules?

313Kriss • 7 years ago

Please go back in time and review all the Democrats decisions regarding voting for a SCOTUS in a President's last year of office.

Thelonious • 7 years ago

Can I do it from the present? Might be quicker.

Are you serious • 7 years ago

Why now and not last year. All of a sudden its a problem?

sam savage • 7 years ago

That's right, king barry didn't get to slip one more ringer in during his last year so how long should democrats pout and how many cities are they going to burn before Gorsuch goes to work? And could you give us a calendar showing when each city will be burned? I won't wash my car that day.

Secret Squirrel • 7 years ago

What sam said plus last year was an election year and the Senate hasn't confirmed a SC justice during an election year in decades.

jackbequik • 7 years ago

How do you know this?

Ronny-Ray-Gun • 7 years ago

I want to see Neil Gorsuch confirmed and on the job by next Thursday. I do not see any problem doing that if the Republicans follow the rules given to them by "Dirty Harry". Get 'er Done!

sam savage • 7 years ago

💪💪💪

Are you serious • 7 years ago

if The Dems followed the GOP rules with Merrick Garland he would get a hearing in about a year.

Ronny-Ray-Gun • 7 years ago

The Communists (Dems) are not in power. The Republicans are. Dirty Harry gave us the Nuclear option never realizing it would backfire on the Commies. Skip a bunch of mumbo-jumbo from the likes of Comrade Schumer and just have an up or down vote for the Honorable Neil Gorsuch and nominate him to the Supreme Court. Then go Nuclear if needed. The Republicans do not have to take any crap from the George Soros led party of Communists and should not. Each day the DC Commies do something to further distance themselves from the voters and the upcoming November elections will prove this true.

ColdFury • 7 years ago

I think Harry knew exactly what he was doing when he unsheathed the nuclear option. He used it knowing full well his time in the Senate was limited.

He wielded the nuclear option the same way he did the other tools at the disposal of the Senate Majority Leader: Without regard for the American people or the future of his party. That's my best attempt at saying in a nice way that Reid was a selfish, diabolical b*st*rd. Even for a liberal politician. There's a special place in Hell waiting for him.

Rey10 • 7 years ago

Reid also believed weakling McConnell would never follow his example and he may be correct. Call McConnell and tell him its time for him to lead.

cjjf • 7 years ago

Why do you think that Garland should have been the first SC nomination ever voted on during an election season? Precedent had already been made not to confirm a SC judge during the election cycle, so why should Garland have been an exception?

jackbequik • 7 years ago

Where do you get this precedent nonsense?

cjjf • 7 years ago

The Democrats.

Charlie Evering • 7 years ago

The judge needs to be on there prior to the current schedule of cases
are started.

Are you serious • 7 years ago

The court could have been filled months ago when the President nominated Merrick Garland.

sam savage • 7 years ago

Maybe, but it wasn't. What's your point?
