So some bureaucrat 17 layers below dog crap has a brain fart and it's Trump's fault?

LeoN • 7 years ago

You do realize that in the Chain of Command, President Trump is accountable for all of his government agency employees, right?

Guest • 7 years ago

That's why Obama appointed the slug, to set a land mine for Trump. So yes Obama was absolutely responsible.

Anchovy Garbanzo • 7 years ago

I blame Obama for Trump's twitter addiction

LeoN • 7 years ago

Sure, blame Obama for President's Trump shenanigans.

Guest • 7 years ago

You realize he did this BEFORE Trump was President? Moron

LeoN • 7 years ago

Back to you, dude!

Nate Zenker • 7 years ago

Why not? The Obama administration repeatedly blamed Bush for their woes.

LeoN • 7 years ago

In this case, Obama was right to blame the Bush administration for the collapse of the economy (not generally blame, but specifically to the economical chaos Bush caused).

Jeff McCabe • 7 years ago

No he wasn't. The economic chaos was caused by the US housing policy, much of which lays on the doorsteps of democrats, but there were republicans involved also. Just not Bush. You need to actually understand economics and not just regurgitate what your read that supports your per-existing bias.

LeoN • 7 years ago

I leave regurgitation to you, my friend. Extended deregulation during the Bush era caused the housing bobble to grow and finally burst. I happen to read and process in order to shape an opinion; do not have room for pre-existing biases.

Every administration changeover has hiccups, has leftover effects of policy, and delays in getting moving. Being more than a partisan hack means that you cut every administration the same amount of slack and charitably assume that it is at least possible that it's not the incoming administration's fault.

I don't know you so I don't if you were so strict regarding previous administrations. but I've never run into anybody that strict on any side before.

What are all the other lies?

Also, it seems that the media (although in this case "buzzfeed" so I use that term loosely) reported very reasonably on an email that was sent directly to them by someone in the USDA.
Also consider that all agencies in the govt were told to shut down social media comms, so it's not like this is out of nowhere or based on no other similar actions by Trump.

The email was clearly sent out by an employee who felt that this must have been prompted by an administration change. So they had a valid source.

They reported on a statement that was very poorly worded and coincidentally timed to within days of an administration change.

Paul Murany • 7 years ago

"So they had a valid source." NO! It is the responsibility of the news source to actually VERIFY the information. Why is that hard to understand? It used to be journalism 101

MichaelZWilliamson • 7 years ago

It's standard procedure to tell the boss before you tell the public.

Or, at least it was before we had a president who found out about things on the news and let the bureaucracy run unchecked. See: ITAR.

In my eyes, what Mr. Trump has been doing in the last few days is very typical in the business world in terms of saving a company from the brink of bankruptcy. It is a quite different scenario against many well-established traditions or systems in scientific communities. Is he or his team capable of fixing the main issues this country is facing? We don't known yet but we do know that they need supports from all the Americans.

In my opinion, Mr. Trump is a patriot and he does not have any reason not to be. His intelligence may help him redirect his path if something is not working.

Michael S • 7 years ago

He is in world of his own when it comes to "intelligence". I live near Atlantic City which is a dying monument to his hubris

Charles Singleman • 7 years ago

Atlantic City killed Atlantic City.

So the worry is that the USDA has blurted out a message of "keeping quiet" regarding Administrative policy is now regarded as...what? censorship? Hardly. Most of us have a boss and when the boss is new, we try to anticipate what the next paradigm will be. I know that trying to put Trump into some sort of "box" and discern what his ultimate intentions are, is, well, not discernible at this time. It is probably best to hold off on making pronouncements or long term plans. The future in a Donald J. Trump administrative environment is well... unknowable.

Thank you for clarifying.

Super Predator • 7 years ago

The gag order was really just a gag suggestion. Trump will be water-boarding the EPA activists first. It's just a warm-up till we get our hands on ISIS. lol

What a fiasco!
