It certainly isn't looking that peaceful anymore either. I hope dearly the impasse ends soon, as that crucial date of January 10th 2017 is a lot closer now than when this piece was published.

I am from Vancouver,Canada and I wanted to say that the US Gov't never supported any progressive Gov't in Latin America during the 20th century and right up to the present time.The US Gov't is the enemy of all progressive Gov'ts in Latin America. That is why they are supporting the Opposition in Venezuela.The Opposition knows that it would lose the Elections in Venezuela that is why they are boycotting the Elections.The Venezuelan Gov't and the majority of people in Venezuela won't allow the Yankees and their allies the Opposition to hold back the Bolivarian Revolution.Yankee Imperialism in Venezuela will be defeated along with the Opposition there.
