Hi Richard, great article!! I have always wanted a storefront of happy wellness items that are good for you, eco friendly, non-toxic , useful and fun! I currently have a happy themed coaching business and want to now start my themed storefront. Would combining some of the hot trends, such as detox teas, coconut candles , as well as, meditative coloring books, and some fun colorful t-shirts with priceless sayings be a bit much for one store? OR is the trend toward nichy type items for one niche market?

I am so ready and interested to start my own online business. I am excited about the idea. I work full time and a bit board. I love creating. I wonder if you can help me out. I love the T-shirt idea. I do graphic design and love the idea of a niche. I am just thinking, organic cotton or hemps fabric with positive quotes on them, simple, but fun! :-)
Thanks you, Chrisitne :-D

Mike • 7 years ago

Chris, my name is Mike, I have set up my online store using shopify and printful, but honestly I am not a graphic artist, or creative in the least bit lol. I have a degree in business, and I majored in Marketing, but I would love to find someone to team up with or work with, particularly a graphic artist. My e-commerce site is https://ihustlefitness.com . Let me know what you think, thanks!

p.s. thanks to ABLS and Richard for helping me get started and for all the great ideas. The startup bundle and growth bundle I purchased also have been a great help so far!

Interesting list! I can't believe beard oil is a thing. Wouldn't coconut oil help you achieve the same thing ?

Joseph Ricafort • 8 years ago

This is really a great list. I never thought of a coffee being used as a body scrub, that was hilarious!

Scott W Poindexter • 8 years ago

Great article really enjoy your info! Question Please...I have/am launching a Eco Friendly Rugby Apparel(off the pitch/not jerseys) Lifestyle apparel. I'm excited to contact Printful as I see they have some Eco products. Do you know any other drop ship apparel companies? or how to find them? I really do not want a garage of stuff I'm a traveler so this needs to be hands free. Thank You!!

Jeni • 7 years ago

Its good to see you are intended to sell Eco Friendly products. Have you already setup your store? During setting up the whole thing you need to take perfect shots of your products, as product's images are the first thing that will appear to customers in selling anything online. Wishing you good luck.

"Tea's ache nemesis...?" I am going to assume you mean Tea's *arch* nemesis, correct?

Ivan Kreimer • 8 years ago

This is a great list. But given these are trends, there are two problems:

1. You risk entering a saturated niche (albeit at the beginning, gaining the first mover advantage)
2. You don't know if this is a raising trend that will become a standard (iphone cases, anyone?) or simply a fad

However, you know what may solve these two problems? Mixing 2 of these trends together. For instance:

1. Local focused adult coloring books
2. Detox green tea
3. Detox nootropics
4. Coconut based beard grooming products

Anyway, great article as always!

Richard Lazazzera • 8 years ago

Absolutely agree. Going after any one of these niches/products probably isn't the best strategy. The best strategy is figuring out how to make one of these products better or different, or selling it to a different market that has slightly different needs.

Just like Franks Body scrub did with coffee grinds and re-purposing it for a body scrub. One example I thought about was using green tea and making it into a body scrub.

Razmataz • 8 years ago

Whilst I agree, another way of looking at this is where exactly are these products trending and where is the trend going? You might find that these trends are still heading to other meaning the might be an opportunity for a person to introduce them there.

Laura • 7 years ago
