It is again clear that our 'democracy' is one in name only.
Until this changes, and that is unlikely to be anytime soon, we will be continually reminded that we are in fact no democracy.
In Japan, five former Japanese premiers are against nuclear power in Japan's future, but the nuclear plants will be re-started - another failed democracy, like the United States - like Canada - and on and on.
How to become a democracy is then the question I think.

It is not only a dereliction of duty but also disregard for the "Doctrine of legitimate expectation"; Citizens have a legitimate expectation that the government would ensure that when there is an option that would not jeopardize food security, not violate First Nations rights and not defy current legal challenges, the government would proceed with that option.
