No! Dragging Len Goodman on to 'It Takes Two' (Wednesday) to say "Let's put a line under it" has achieved nothing. On the contrary. Head judge or not, we all want to hear from the one person clearly under enormous stress prior to declaring for Andre after the dance off. A person whose demeanour was entirely at odds with her usually flawless persona, having to swallow hard, neck as stiff as a poker, seemingly totally ill at ease. The one judge who appeared unable to face the cameras, head bowed low as Len delivered his decision. Let us hear from Darcey Bussell before the house falls in, and Strictly is left with thousands who will continue to watch but may never again believe. Surely, this glorious icon would never have knowingly debased her reputation for a cheap trick and, if it was (as, clearly, thousands believe it was), permitting herself to be tarnished by association. She would be forever forgiven if that is what has happened, perhaps not by the producers of Strictly, but certainly by all her fans and admirers and, if so, she should decide which is the more important.

MIKE DEVERE • 8 years ago

If the BBC are telling the truth (and I don't think they are), let them show the audience's original reaction to Peter Andre's dance-off, before it was re-recorded. Or have they conveniently wiped it.

MIKE DEVERE • 8 years ago

Everyone can see (and Darcy Bussell's attempt to hide her face only confirmed) that the Producers got to, at least, three of the judges between the main show and the dance off to rig their responses in favour of a pathetic Peter Andre performance.

JEM • 8 years ago

Travesty - Jamelia was the better dancer and the sooner Peter Andre (who?) gets shown the door the better - do wish the voting system would allow 'NO' votes as well as 'YES' votes - true democracy!!

Ewen • 8 years ago

typical fix there was no way perfect pete was going to be voted off

Di • 8 years ago

Definitely on the night, Peter's performance on the dance floor was the poorest. However, his 'Mr too nice to be wholesome' performance was outstanding .....It's important to be nice, if you want to be popular, but being completely sycophantic is nauseating - hard lines Jamelia

Valerie Sykes • 8 years ago

No, on the night Jamelia should have got through. I think she's been treated badly

Rougereine • 8 years ago

The judges have always been biased, they are only human and so have their favourites, where they will more easily notice the good points while blinking at the bad. That does not make everything a fix! The couples in the dance off were dancing totalling different dances, making it easier to see different good points. Also they were in Blackpool, a far larger dancing area (which is why there were the extra dancers) making seeing everything more difficult. Jamelia's skirts hid much of her leg movements and why must people assume the camera sees everything?

ColinEP • 8 years ago

The camera operators are as bad as the judges, you are supposed to be able to watch the whole body when someone is dancing not just their head and shoulders.

riki • 8 years ago

I think the Judges are very biased they are always under voting Jay and throw out the better of two dancing team CRH is the pits mean for the sake of being mean not a good judge at all. Still I prefer this to Xfactor which is also a fixed program

andy • 8 years ago

Andre should have gone he was the worse dancer as well as being a creep with his comments and proves to me that the judges keep their favourites. Scrap the dance off and let the bottom one go each time

LP • 8 years ago

I agree that they should go back to the original system of the person who scores lowest on the combined vote of the judges and general public, goes. I can't remember why the powers that be came up with this daft dance off in the first place. I know that when it first started the judges, particularly Len Goodman as the casting voter, said that they hated it.

ColinEP • 8 years ago

It's a way of keeping the producers favorites in.

Sandra Garrett • 8 years ago

Do people actually BET on this? And WHY are there programmes devoted to useless backstage gossip?

LP • 8 years ago

Some people will bet on anything e.g. when the first snowflake will fall, which snail will cross the finishing line first etc, etc.

Alsey • 8 years ago

I'm no Jamelia fan, but she was better than Andre and she had a higher score from the judges, so yet again it shows that the show is fixed. It is now just like any other reality rubbish show.

JR • 8 years ago

I thought the judges had to judge on the dance-off dance they had just seen. If that is the case, then, much as I like Peter Andre, he should have gone. Jamelia danced so much better than he did. It was so unfair. This really was the most obvious display of 'fixing' and has proved that Ola is right.

LP • 8 years ago

It's always been fixed and the judges, at least some of them, show their favouritism a bit too much.

lorna • 8 years ago

Based on the dancing this weekend, Jamelia should have stayed and Peter gone. I don't know whether it is all fixed but Peter usually does a much better job and Jamelia is often in the dance off. This must be on their minds. I think Peter is one of the favourites to win.

Laurence King • 8 years ago

Definitely proved that Ola Jordan was right,it is fixed. No way should Jamelia have been voted off. Peter Andre survived because he is a judges favourite.

Gary • 8 years ago

No Jamelia should have stayed

Jeff Daniels • 8 years ago

It was a disgrace. |While I have nothing against Peter he was not the best on Saturday or on Sunday. They should be ashamed of themselves!

metaxaman • 8 years ago

Len was allowed to give the correct vote because, by then, it was academic.

Alsey • 8 years ago

But last year Len got rid of Pixie which was obviously a fix, so he had to make the right decision this time

michael • 8 years ago

Best way...stop stringing it out.....lowest public vote....out the door...no need for dance off's, if the couple that go had more public vote than the couple that stay, then we are wasting our money...and lets face it who really wants Peter Andre...I would lay a pound to a penny he got less public votes than Jamelia...Andre makes me want to reach for the sick bucket.

Alsey • 8 years ago

Yes I know what you mean, he has such a puny wining voice and he just brown noses to the judges, he is just another reality show regular as his music is non existent now, most people seem to see through him, but I expect that there are lost of young girlies voting for him.

Pixie 999 • 8 years ago

Thought it was supposed to be, 'the best on the night' - not on some judges favourite. Still, it's better viewing than the X-factor, just about.

Peter Hooper • 8 years ago

I thought that Jamelia should not even have been in the bottom 2 as there were 2 couples that were not as good as she was and Peter was nowhere near her standard in the Dance off..

metaxaman • 8 years ago

You only had to look at Darcy Bussells face when she gave the vote and her reaction after to tell that she was told how to vote.

dave • 8 years ago

Yes,I saw her guilty face even though she tried hiding it with her hands.Darcy new she was voting the wrong person out.

Alsey • 8 years ago

Yep so clearly rigged

Mark • 8 years ago

Time Peter Andre was consigned to the past!

Alsey • 8 years ago

Well al he does is reality rubbish shows so that is a sure sign that he is the past.

Laptop Lil • 8 years ago

No, Peter should have gone, he was woeful on Saturday night. However, as Jamelia had been in the dance off so many times and most of the judges like Peter better anyway, if was a foregone conclusion.

Ann Onymous • 8 years ago

Yes, but more practice Peter. How many more agonising weeks before it finishes?

thomas • 8 years ago

apart from Claudia Winkleman, the show is quite good, a bit unfair but beats x factor hands down, I'ld get rid of Darcey Bussel and Claudia Winkleman, they get on my wick

Kevin • 8 years ago

with you re winkleman trys and fails to be funny, she must have friends in high places to get and keep the job

Alsey • 8 years ago

And Craig he is just a massive attention seeker

Ann Onymous • 8 years ago

Darcey Bussell is delightful.

dave melville • 8 years ago

Blackpool Tower Ballroom will always hold special memories for all who have been fortunate to visit.
Saturday was no exception and the contestants all danced to their best ability, however in the final dance off I was with Len.
One person who has developed into a really good presenter is Tess Daly who has easily taken over the role from dear "Brucie" and is providing a very smooth and polished performance week after week. Her reaction with the judges and contestants is magic.

David son of A & L • 8 years ago

She does her presenting well except for the idiotic way that she has to announce the voting! Why do the clowns who produce these type of `public voting' events not just let the presenters read the total votes for each person, or couple in a normal manner? The long pause is both irritating and pointless! And, as for the judges having the final vote on which of the bottom two couples stay, that is all wrong, and, in my opinion, anyone who pays to vote knowing that their vote may be overruled by the judges, is rather silly!

RPRB • 8 years ago

I see many comments on the judges. The end product is a public vote. That's if we believe in what they tell us. We all accept the public vote as given by the BBC.

michael • 8 years ago

That's the problem though, the very end result is NOT a product of a public vote.....and should be...if it had been Andre would be gone and not Jamelia.

billbradbury • 8 years ago

On the night the better of the two was voted off. Len was right. Other judges were influenced by the fact Jamelia had been in more dance offs. Made a mockery of the dance offs.Three judges had already made up their minds.

Gail Jenkinson • 8 years ago

Jamelia was marked higher than Peter Andre on Saturday night by the judges. She was told to keep her top line steady and to reduce the gapping. Both of these she did much more successfully in the dance-off than in the routine itself. Peter Andre was described as flat-footed and told his hand positions were awful. Neither of these improved in the dance-off. Len was right.

Ed McA • 8 years ago

Stop most of these horrible reality shows - a few do make the grade, as 'Hunted' a few weeks back. It was interesting in showing how easily individuals can be traced via phone call, CCTV, ATM machines .............

RPRB • 8 years ago

If you want to make a comment. Do so on the article NOT on some private thoughts.

Ed McA • 8 years ago

So you are a member of the 'thought police'! How sad!
Incidentally a comma was necessary, in your post, and not a full stop!

RPRB • 8 years ago

I see you went to an Acadamy. If I want to make a point it is always good to make a deliberate mistake then you know that someone read it.

Ed McA • 8 years ago

Excuses, excuses, excuses. Take responsibility.
