As the conclusion says, the main failure is the unability to build strong institutions that can act as check-and-balances and counteract the most blatant politico-economic issues : internal and external land grabbing, corruption, urban unemployment, power sharing outside the Tigrayan hard core (all of which, except the fourth, OPDO and ANDM have their share of responsability for). .
If TPLF people are 1st class citizens, OPDO and ANDM are 2nd class, while the rest of the people are 3rd class. The regional parliaments which have 100% of the seat occupied by the sub-parties are hardly more representative than the federal parliament.
In fact, they are complaining about losing their own dictatorial power to TPLF, not about people human rights.

What an insightful article. I am Ethiopian who has lived in US for a while now. I have some knowledge of the country's political situation. I think this article has enhanced my understanding a great deal.
