Can any working class kid- at CCRI say - indulge in grandiose elitist visions of " my future in Washington " ? Does this ballyhooed Ivy League education make it just impossible for these pampered, flattered, brainwashed yet conceited students to imagine any future economic system but increasingly insane capitalism dependent on a world bullying military machine ? There is still room for THEM at the top ?

Voltaire's character resigned himself to a " cultivate my garden " attitude. But our precious university student thinks : " Let me cultivate my identity ! "

The article might just as well be titled: "Reality spurs seniors to rethink career choice."

This is another subtle reflection of an environment of political and ideological homogeneity at Brown. Substantial exposure to perspectives (academic and personal) that might help make sense of the worldview of the 60M Americans who voted for Trump seems to be missing.

It may be an imperceptible and even comfortable deficiency during a person's time on campus, but the school's failure to cultivate a climate of ideological diversity has serious consequences when it harms or delays students' preparations for life after Brown.

" Identity politics " is now nothing less than a DNC based secular orthodox political ideology on Ivy League campuses. It is now utterly stupefying the majority of students. The FREE THINKER is a dinosaur on the Brown campus.
With cramped souls they charge into that illusory BRIGHT FUTURE !
