We already have 'single payer' in the US - ask anyone about what quality of care you get under the VA, expanded medicaid, or indian health services.

I have endless friends who have health INSURANCE and no doctor because nobody will accept their 'insurance' which literally pays less than even the actual cost of materials for certain things. (ie dental coverage as a random example) If a dental office did 100% medicaid patients they'd be bankrupt unless they buy the scariest dodgiest chinese supplier shit imaginable.

For doctor coverage they do not get prescribed things that help the problem but rather things that drug companies push because the extra kickbacks are sometimes the only things helping them make the bills in private practice. (those who didn't quit early/too early in career, since the Obamacare hassles of literally million dollar fines on what they arbitrarily decide is a second 'mistake' not in compliance with what they term is "Evidence Based Medicine".) Vaccines and propaganda are pushed not because the doctors even believe in it but because "the system" demands them to.

Several dumbasses keep pushing for 'single payer' on here, methinks you have no idea what you are even asking for or/and you have never been under 'single payer' healthcare in your life.

Our top problem is and has always been PRICE COLLUSION AND PRICE FIXING to artificially inflate the cost of certain treatments where literally 90% of all the profits are made for hospitals, which is generally allowed because it offsets some of the losses incurred by "single payer" class forced treatment. One cannot exist without the other - the whole system needs a reboot, and it's not going to reboot itself or fix itself from within. With real competition and protections against abusive charges, nonsense charges, and govt granted monopolies (like the Epipen going up TENFOLD in cost when it's cheaper to manufacture now than ever and it costs even less like $30 instead of $600-900 where it doesn't have a patent lock) the costs of healthcare go down and so does the potential costs of health insurance IF the insurance companies are FORCED to pass on some of those savings to consumers. (else they just pocket everything because thy've already determined "what the market will bear" via raised prices already - all Ryancare did was lower quality of care so THEY wouldn't go bankrupt, far as i'm concerned f_ck the insurance companies)
