For starters, how about localizing the new Kunio-kun games that have been already released for 3DS?

Strider Hien • 8 years ago

Super Double Dragon,Double Dragon Advance and DD Neon are some of my favorite entries in the series. But Double Dragon II:The Revenge on Nes....Oh man,the memories.

Hope they go through with this.Need some 2D,beat em'up goodness in my life.

JUST DO IT !!!

voy3voda • 8 years ago

The sprites of arc systems are legit

💎Junsui no Houseki💎 • 8 years ago

Well if they actually bring the game here, i am sure it will be able to capture some fans who love 2D beat em up market here. Especially from what i have played from JP E-Shop 3DS. The game actually had been so much fun.^_^

Kuronoa • 8 years ago

Do it! I would buy collections and any new title.

UnderstandingIndustry • 8 years ago

Arc System Works' 2D side-scrolling beat-em-ups?! Hubba hubba! Get a couple under their belt, then team up with Yuko to do SOR4.

lol@u • 8 years ago

Yes! We need more Kunio games in the west!

ShadowFang • 8 years ago

Ugh! Frustrating! I wish we'd hear from Arc System Works about River City Ransom: Underground. I'm very curious to hear about that - it's looking so good! Man, I hope they let it get released!

Seizui • 8 years ago

You know, I would love to see Arc System Works capture the tone of Rage of the Dragons, but improve on the gameplay. To me, Rage of the Dragons felt like what would had been the GGX-ish version of Double Dragon.

RagnaXBL • 8 years ago

I can see it now. Super Stylised Crazy Animu Heavy Metal Double Dragon! Gonna be awesome!

korruption • 8 years ago

I was excited until I saw that Double Dragon III arcade pic, causing me to puke a little. Hows about a 100% fully finished version of Return of Double Dragon (known as Super Double Dragon in the west, which was even less finished)? =)

Eric Harris • 8 years ago

yes please, more of these and physical releases. I will buy them all. If they are just e-shop releases. Forget it.

GuyAlpha • 8 years ago

Yes, more beat em ups please. Man, Double Dragon is making a comeback and Battletoads are creeping into relevancy. Makes me wonder.

YamRyu • 8 years ago

This is why Arc System Works is amongst my top 5 favorite devs, right up there with Capcom (pre-DLC crazy) and Atlus. Hopefully we'll get to see a new Double Dragon and River City Ransom with their brilliant sprites.

MisterNefarious • 8 years ago

Arc's DLC practices are every bit as obnoxious as Capcom's, if not worse due to the higher price.
Why buy an Arc game when a new one releases in six months with the last two overpriced DLC characters, and maybe two new ones (through more overpriced DLC)?

YamRyu • 8 years ago

I completely forgot while writing the comment! You're right, they are pretty terrible with their DLC. Having to pay for voice packs is inexcusable and the way they work out the characters is also terrible.

Outside of that though I find all of their fighting games to be really enjoyable and some of the best out there and as a fighting game fan that's all that matters.

MisterNefarious • 8 years ago

Oh I wouldn't doubt their quality, I'm just saying they are just as bad with gouging you as capcom

I think arc games are of an obviously high quality. I personally find persona 4u to be pretty awesome

Ggxrd is really annoying to me. Would rather just play the more robust +r

Professor Icepick • 8 years ago

I'm probably in the minority here, but I'd love it if Arc System Works greenlit a sequel to Double Dragon Neon from WayForward. That's probably my favorite beat-'em-up of last gen (which doesn't really sound so hot, I know) but it's really a hidden gem.

Black Koshinomi • 8 years ago

As fan of beat em up i never play it yet but after reading your comment i will look into it . Your dexter pic sold me

Godmars • 8 years ago

Thing is, i want to see side scrolling beat'em up on the art level of King of Fighters XIII - if not better. Not just revived 8 or 16 - and notice few if any 32 - bit graphics.

Know with HD such would be expensive, time consuming, but still.

Edit:
And to be PERFECTLY clear - NO FLASH ANIMATIONS!!!

I know too that the tech and methods have come a long way, but its still crap compared to detailed sprites.

ParrotProphet • 8 years ago

You can start by not cancelling or hindering River City Ransom Underground in any way. In fact, give that game a proper ad campaign and support as it nears completion.

catherinebouey • 8 years ago

Why support something that features an ip you own that you're not going to see any profit from?

ParrotProphet • 8 years ago

That literally made no sense. Of course they were going to see profit. And seeing as how the game was mostly unaffected anyway, that point is further moot.

catherinebouey • 8 years ago

Ummmm Arc System Works isn't going to see a dime from the sales of River City Ransom Undergound which was kind of the point I was making as to why they're going to throw money into supporting something they're not making that's based off of something they currently have the rights too.

MisterNefarious • 8 years ago

Needs more upvotes.

iKen • 8 years ago

Oh boy, can't wait to revisit my childhood :D

Seraph • 8 years ago

Double Dragon was my childhood and I'd love to see it come back. I enjoyed Neon, but it won't take the spot that Double Dragon II (NES) did.

z_merquise • 8 years ago

Shadow Force by Arc Sys, please.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=byk...

Can't say 'No' beat-em-ups that starred bad-ass, futuristic ninjas.

Darkwing Geese • 8 years ago

Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone arcade doesn't exist. :p

James Darkly • 8 years ago

Double Dragon 2.5D like Hard Corps Uprising and Daisuke for Composer!!11

Souffrir • 8 years ago

There are actually people who want developers to make 2.5D? Ugh.

_buchu • 8 years ago

I hope that River City Ransom: Underground is still going to be able to be released. I've really been looking forward to it for some time, so I hope both parties will be able to come to an agreement.

Also, a Kunio collection for Steam with online co-op, removal of slowdown and sprite flicker would be incredible.

CeeCee • 8 years ago

It should be fine. As far as I recall when I backed it, they bought the licence up front -- and that deal wouldn't have changed much, if at all. It probably also helps that Yoshihisa Kishimoto himself is attached to the project :)

NoirSonRX • 8 years ago

Please do so, I'd love to see a solid to great Double Dragon game or Kunio-Kun who I know mostly from Super Dodge Ball be revived in the west for a new generation of gamers. I know there was that Double Dragon game from a few years back, but I still want more.

Kelechuckuw K.c.W • 8 years ago

It was called Double Dragon Neon BTW. It did pretty well too.

catherinebouey • 8 years ago

There was more than one Double Dragon remake/revivial

Neon just happens to be the most recent.

Kelechuckuw K.c.W • 8 years ago

Yes, of this I'm aware but if you look as the post above men and double dragon neon was at latest a few years back as stated the person used a few years back .

Unless it's more detailed about . but yes neon was the most recent and freshest in peoples mind's as you can see from other posters above us in the comments area of this article alot of people would like to see a sequel to it. but the words few were use and that can mean any small number even 2 years.

catherinebouey • 8 years ago

Oooooook

Kelechuckuw K.c.W • 8 years ago

Yep Okayyyyyy

Mountain Smithy • 8 years ago

I'm happy that Double Dragon's future looks bright. But at the same time, Double Dragon Advance is one of my favorite games of all time, so I really hope the Arc System's Double Dragon games are at least near that standard.

AkuLord3 • 8 years ago

As long as Double Dragon is like Neon or anything good, then it will do well unlike that other misstep
