As a reference point i'd like to state that I'm a UK/CAN expat and small business owner who has successfully operated tourist facilities over a 25 year period in distant & remote locations from the capital cities of both Costa Rica and Panama.

I would like to let the readers know that from necessity we've successfully learned how to use the web and the relatively new cloud based services being offered via the web, as well as many of today's other digital tools to help place our brand and it's leisure properties and activities in front of a massive amount of customers throughout the world with relatively little cost and effort.

This has helped our organization grow and allows us to share information in a more timely manner. One of the end results is that we are now able to offer a superior customer experience to our national and international visitors alike based on the digital data that arrives prior to the guests arrival. This was just not possible in the very recent past but things have progressed lightening fast over the last couple of years and so it is now!

Therefore, I heartily applaud the effort being made by both Google and the UK Tourism industry to share some digital ideas and tools with the good folk on the UK coastline. It will undoubtedly have a positive effect on visitors and the local businesses and regions lucky enough to participate. I for one wouldn't hesitate for a moment to take part in this endeavour! So how can i get involved?

Cheers, Andrew
