Personally I think Jimin's voice is annoying but then again, preferences. I hate that type of voice. Call it unique, whatever, I like Good Start with Seulong voice only, but cringe when the rap part comes in. Even if it's not this girl, but another woman with same voice.

The main problem isn't whether she's bad or good. Sure, she pales in comparison to the other great rappers but what majority do not like is the fact that she repeatedly states that she doesn't want to be treated/seen as an idol in this case yet she is the main person who associates herself with her 'idol' status and repeatedly emphasizes on being an 'idol'. So it makes people feel the whole "what the heck are you tryin' to do?!". Her saying one thing and doing another, contradicting herself and also mostly relying on her 'idol' status is what people are really getting pissed at. Her rapping skills as compared to the others also adds to the fire. Furthermore, there is also a clear bias from the judge(s).
Overall, whether you're an idol or not, action speaks louder than words. If you say one thing, make sure you do it. If you don't want people to associate you with your 'idol' status, start by disassociating yourself and don't bring it up all the time (yes, she can bring it up sometimes people. Being an idol is still part of her so it's a life experience. As long as it's not ALL the time).

I think the people defending her are just thrown because it seems scripted. The show needs drama and having the idol angle is a good source of it. So it's weird to see how passionately people hate someone who is most likely just acting out the concept they've been told to perform.

Whether it's scripted or not, the sad truth is that people can't help but find reasons to hate on other people instead of evaluating from a 'as neutral as possible'/neutral stand-point. Constructive criticism is ok but hating is not.

Jimin performance in ep 7 has nothing to do with hip hop, it's just pop. It's not bad at all, it's just not hip hop. So I could say I get the hate because this song was kinda out of place - but seems the hate is not really about that. It's as always, haters and also fans of other groups jealous and mad that she's as good as she is and doing so well.
