Re: Forge

I've seen more armor on D&D fantasy babes. (Hell, that cod-piece probably doesn't even have room for a small goldfish!)

DarkMoonBlackSun • 5 years ago

Glad to see the gang again! Much respect!

Gern Blandston • 5 years ago

I fuckin' love that Kane throws up a five when KQ is throwing a tater. It just speaks to the constant impedance mismatch these two have. So subtle, so beautifully real.

Oh hey I'm way behind but I SEE SHOTARO AND PHILLIP AAAAAA

Moola Mation • 6 years ago

Dude, your comic was great. I only wish you'd continued it. As someone who worked in the advertising bidnizz or years doing animated television commercials, and now work in another branch of television animation production, a more satisfying role in entertainment, it "spoke' to me. In fact, I have to say, in some way, your strip inspired me to go out on the proverbial limb, and along with my wife, create our own personal animated product and dip our toes into crowd-funding to try and get it seen by more than close friends and family. Take a look and consider supporting, and please, pass it on to others. As you all too well know, the more eyes on it, the better.
Thanks, and thanks for the hours of great story.

Day 21 beetle looks like Daft Punk had a Peter Parker like experience.

Sherbert T Cat • 6 years ago

You should give the 3 Dev Adam poster a shot!
El Santo and Captain America vs Spiderman and his criminal empire.

I did not make up a single word of that. Its a real thing you can watch!

Jamie Noguchi • 6 years ago

El Santo!!! I love him!! I'll keep that in mind. What is 3 Dev Adam?

Sherbert T Cat • 6 years ago

The whole film is on Youtube, if you're feeling brave enough. XD

Jamie Noguchi • 6 years ago

WOW!!!!!

Sherbert T Cat • 6 years ago

Yeah. Turkish cinema is some kind of wonderful insanity.
The cream of the crop has to be "The Man who Saved the World" aka Turkish Star Wars.

Loki • 7 years ago

Wait, is it racist if it's your own race though?

Soroya123 • 7 years ago

I recently went to the exhibit at the Japanese American National Museum and it was super cool to see the illustrations that you did!

zzzzzzzzz....no posts in months....zzzzzz

Jamie Noguchi • 7 years ago

Yeah, I'm sorry. I've had a huge ass project just finish up this past few months that took me away from pretty much everything. I'm going to see if I can post something soon, but freelance work is taking up most of my time.

Pyewacket LeChat • 7 years ago

Trust me, I know. I had a load of storyboards to get out last year. Started in June and ended a couple of days before Christmas. All freelance, all work at night and on the weekends, AFTER the old daily 8 hour shifts doing much the same. I am still recovering. Loved your strip, man. I completely related, even though I am from the old Gen X. Here, have a look at this, it is a few day's late, but, what the heck. We posted this the other night. https://www.youtube.com/wat...

L to R: Not sure, Peter Lorre as Mister Moto ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wi... ), Warner Oland as Dr. Fu Manchu (?) and Charlie Chan, Peter Sellars as Dr. Fu Manchu in The Fiendish Plot of Dr. Fu Manchu, David Carradine as Shaolin acolyte Kwai Chang Caine (Kung Fu), Mickey Rooney as I.Y. Yunioshi from Breakfast at Tiffany's. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wi... )

Vinny • 7 years ago

Luise Rainer as O-Lan in "The Good Earth" - 1937. Paul Muni (Austro-Hungarian) also played a Chinese character in the same film.

reynard61 • 7 years ago

Thanks! (Never seen that one.)

xero • 7 years ago

far left is the main villain in Enter the Dragon unless i'm mistaken

reynard61 • 7 years ago

No; that villain, Han, was played by Chinese actor Shih Kien: https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...

Joel Joseph • 7 years ago

I see Fu Manchu in the middle. I don't recognize the others.

Talewinds • 7 years ago

Glad to see you back.
Been out of circulation myself, but after 2 1/2 years I have my own apartment back, [long boring story] my books are out out of storage, and the Four Winds are blowing again. Four Winds Storytellers Library in Facebook.
Not a movie watcher much any more, but I have read the four volume translation of a Journey West.
Now I want to see Rogue One.

Talewinds • 7 years ago

I have the original ballad Mulan in English. This retelling sucks. Love the last panel.
For those interested: "The Tale of the Nisan Shamaness", trans. Margaret Nowak Washington Press

Max Kay • 7 years ago

I was put off by the CG of the 2015 Monkey King. Should I give it another go? Is it better, story-wise at least, than the 2013 Journey to the West?

Dean • 7 years ago

I'm willing to accept that Donnie Yen is the Monkey King based on your evidence, but Chirrut Imwe I'm not sure about.

I'm so happy to see the Gundam hoodies! RX-78, Char's Zaku, and the Doms? Black Tri-Stars? You're my hero.

charlieboy808 • 7 years ago

LOL My family would not shrug the can goods because no one knew the power of actually making from scratch. Glad I know the value of doing it the right way now though. HAHA

Apparently, the obelisk is an Ancient Egyptian-style monument that depicts the phallus of the neteru (god) Ausar (Osiris). Freemasons, a secret brotherhood of which George Washington and most of the Founding Fathers were members, used it in the layout of Washington, D.C.

Mike84 • 7 years ago

Yeah, because you know... we're seeing swastikas all over the place all of a sudden. I can't even get out of bed without stepping on a damn swastika anymore. What has the world come to? You extreme progressives are so brainwashed, I can't believe it. Stop reading the fear mongering click bait at Huffington Post and Salon. Come back to the real world.

Cole7284 • 7 years ago

Are you saying that Trump didn't really select notorious racist and antisemite Steve Bannon as his Chief Strategist? I'm so relieved to hear that Huffington Post made that up. Next you'll be telling me that Jeff "too racist to be a judge" Sessions hasn't been chosen as Attorney General.

ronwf • 7 years ago

Fair enough. But there's been plenty of anti-Trump graffiti - and, in fact, violence against Trump supporters as well. Nobody's hands are clean. Haters are out there on all sides.

Cole7284 • 7 years ago

There may be haters on both sides, but only one side's elected officials are encouraging violence.

Quick quiz. Name the politician who said:
"If you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of them, would you? Seriously. OK. Just knock the hell. I promise you I will pay for the legal fees. I promise. I promise."

Hint: It's the same politician who made the following tweet after his favored candidate lost the presidential election:
"We can't let this happen. We should march on Washington and stop this travesty. Our nation is totally divided!"

Jamie Noguchi • 7 years ago

It's definitely been a big ol mess.

Kim • 7 years ago

The only other place I'll accept a Swastika is the right way around as a Buddhist temple marker.

mustardman999 • 7 years ago

From left to right: Lobster tail, black truffle, chipotle pepper, carrots, garlic, skirt steak, onion (unless I'm looking at it wrong, in which case it's either a scallop or a clam), and chives.

xero • 7 years ago

wait what movie are you talking about with Bruce lee played by a white guy only one i know about is Dragon and Jason Scott Lee is Hawaiian/Chinese

Jamie Noguchi • 7 years ago

Birth of a Dragon. Bruce Lee is played by an Asian, but the movie stars a rando white guy. Because apparently Bruce Lee isn't bad ass enough? http://blog.angryasianman.c...

xero • 7 years ago

DAFUQ!? i mean if Rando white guy was meant to be Chuck Norris MAYBE i could see that working

Anna • 7 years ago

Has Bodie been watching Luke Cage?
