Can't stand the vile little hippy trollop - Thank God Spaffer's resigned. It means she's resigned too - good 'effing riddance to both of them!!!

Ammons • 1 year ago

I think the phrase ‘the hedgehog community’ will keep me in a pleasant mood for the whole day.

Angus J • 1 year ago

Yes, doesn't it just provoke images of jolly little hedgehogs getting together at the community hall for a cup of tea and a natter.

'...hedgehog population' would have been better.

"In the UK anyone who wishes to have political power should run for elected office."
Hell will freeze over before Prince Charles takes that particular piece of advice.

all together now: hell - and Number 10 - hath no fury like....

Getting rid of Cummings is where he guaranteed his current downfall.

Mr Non-PC • 1 year ago

It was Nut Nut who made sure Cummings was removed...

Birdy • 1 year ago

She couldn't 'make sure' Cummings was removed. She required the acquiescence of the PM.

Carrie, 'successfully worked her way through Conservative campaign headquarters', and what does this mean?

Flintshire Ian • 1 year ago

It may mean that she is a bit of an environmentally friendly means of transport.

Mike Harding memorably described a fictitious woman in one of his routines as ‘went about with a mattress strapped to her back in case she met anyone she knew..’

Yorkieeye • 1 year ago

The Brexit Boys should have it ‘all their own way’ it is what the vote demanded. Democracy is what got Carrie’s bloke elected she should have more respect for it. The Prime Ministerial spouses of the future should seek to model themselves on Dennis Thatcher

She is in my view the principle cause of his downfall.

Downing St. 2019 to 22.
Smirking Allegra Stratton, slumped over a lectern.
An army of green hacks excited about Llareggub.

Well yes and no. It’s really his personal morality and how his political views are affected by its consequent entanglements, admittedly with her, that led to his loss of focus on what he was elected to do.

Wonder why this has suddenly reappeared on the 'most popular' list a year after publication. Presumably brigading from reddit , twitter or discord.

It’s always the fault of the woman, eh Douglas?

Tim J • 3 years ago

Imagine if Boris was instead dating this magazines very own Kate Andrews. Oh how different the country would be with Kate keeping him on the straight and narrow.

Is there any way this can be arranged? ;-)

She’s a dimbo Biden supporter. Put it away, mate.

Psychedelia Smith • 3 years ago

Bang on. Carrie Symonds is the distilled essence of the political and 'cultural' class now. An imperious detached grasping dictatorial meddling cabal of smug dinner party cretins who nobody voted for. From Carrie Symonds to the Committee on Climate Change, this aggressive human super-mold continues to hijack and suffocate everything it comes into contact with.

We are seriously close to needing something resembling a violent revolution.

the hedgehog community? Do we need to add an H to the ever-expanding LGBTQI....?

Ha ha but it’s a very serious point, actually

Hayekian • 3 years ago

Yes, bigot! and identifying as a hedgehog should never be questioned whether or not people choose to have the spikes attached or adopt the mainly invertebrate diet.

Absolutely right.

It's more of a spineless PM problem than a 'first girlfriend' problem.

The Cabinet should demand she is out of the news - she should not have a PR director on the public purse and we don't expect to see her grinning on the cover of fashion magazines. We don't have a first lady position...and we don't want one. If she wants a voice let her be elected or invisible and not playing intrigues with advisers and civil servants.

justinae • 3 years ago

Everything you have written makes sense and I don't doubt prominent members of the Government would agree with you but they will do nothing because the removal of the Johnson menage will present them with opportunities for their own advancement. They will stand by and watch him fall.

I don't dispute the hedgehog decline but his use of the words "hedgehog community" was mocking identity politics. Watch this week's Week in 60 minutes and watch his wry smile as he uses the phrase.

It does. I heard the late Christopher Hitchens once refer to the 'genital mutilation community'.

At least 30 years ago I heated a reference to the family planning community.

It seems that Mr. Johnson is going ahead with the Royal Yacht. Another interior on which to offer advice?

Princess Nut Nut - sometimes a nickname can encapsulate perfectly everything about the persons character.

Not only has C-A spent eye watering sums decorating their flat at no 11, but they have been ordering take away nightly from Ocado. And do they have a nanny? Surely she realises he has no spare cash? I suppose she assumes he will pay off his debts on the lecture circuit when he leaves office. Maybe Boris and the Trumpster could tour as a double act!

No HS2...No EU • 3 years ago

The Trumpster is a runaway success, why bother with a loser.

Carrie Symonds and the First Girlfriend problem

Maybe she's sliding down the rankings and is down to about #5.

"...jealous little men feel threatened by intelligent women...." I watched Geoffrey Archer, Author, he with the highly intelligent, feminine and fragrant wife, taking an ear bashing from a woman Genghis Khan would run a mile from, but he was unperturbed. It is not your intelligence men are afraid of you deluded females its your aggressiveness and blindness to your own limitations which precludes them from retaliating.

Alice • 3 years ago

Jeffrey Archer has a famously fragrant and intelligent wife, Mary. Is the less well-known wife of author Geoffrey Archer, Eva, similarly sweet-smelling and intellectually endowed?

justinae • 3 years ago

I have no idea because I have never heard of her. Perhaps she stays discreetly in the background.
