Hi - Trying this on my Nexus. Installed OK. Did Backup Create Android Backup File, with System apps+data & Shared Data OK. Tried Backup data/media, and kind of gets lost. The FastBoot appears to work OK, Nexus has large green arrow with Start on top, white Up and Down arrows on the right, Android icon with chest door open, lower left says FastBoot Mode, Product Name, ..., Secure Boot - enabled, Lock State - Locked. It displays various status abut checking FastBoot, ADB / USB /etc. then the USB icon goes away and an error screen displays. Says to re-install ADB drivers (there is no Portable device in Device Manager) and no Nexus in Other devices. Pressing Start and Up/Down arrows doesn't appear to do anything. Pushing power button boots to Android. Was I supposed to do something somewhere that I missed? Was the toolkit supposed to tell me to do something somewhere and it didn't? Do I have any idea of what/how to fix this? NO! Have I ever rooted before (not really, put SuperSU and/or OneClickRoot on the Nexus long time back. Think I removed them. Titanium and Helium used to work and both need Root as I remember.

thx, lo

Hey man you're still alive? Servers are down, can't use neither 2.1.9
Please if you don't want or can't upgrade to pixel root toolkit 2.2.0, just tell and maybe just open source it so people can contribute

No he isn't still alive, I'm his widow

Backlashx • 9 months ago

OMG. RIP. May he be remembered always and always for all his help to us Nexus holders. As of today, I've successfully rooted my Nexus Tablet (2013) WIFI version, all thanks to his detailed step by step guides. The compatibility checks in his Nexus root Toolkit application were so damn helpful, besides also having the option to unlock tablet before rooting it

And I also wish you a long and prosperous life. Thank you so much

Regardless of the architecture of the hardware you're running, if you have Windows in a virtual machine you're golden.

I have a Nexus 6P thats on Android 8. It is google locked, and I dont not have the email or pass to unlock it. How can I use the toolkit to return it to orginal (bypassing the google account lockout)? I cannot get to the settings to enable debugging. I am stuck at the startup due to the google account lock.

If you can find the images to flash, yes.

Oh man. Hi techs. This process makes me nervous. I am a relative newbie ... is there an app. , .. A "click" fix. My issue is - I want to use an otg usb camera on my LG VS450PP. Android version 4.4.2 software version VS450PP1 . Any assistance would be exquisite . Thank you👊

jgjuice m • 5 years ago

Hey Yo! .. Hi, just experimenting with noticabelity. 😀

onwireless • 5 years ago

Despite being a great tool that steps you through the whole process, my Nexus 5x with Android 8.0 remains un-rooted.
I had to select "Android *.*.* Any Build" as 8.0 was not in the list of builds .
I look forward to support for 8.0 as this is otherwise great.

onwireless • 5 years ago

Oh I see there is also the function to step back to 7.0.0, ... so now was able to root it.
This is a great tool, making the whole task so easy, Steps you through the whole process.

Every time I try to root it says failed and then aborts and screws it up. I had the root actually root once and then got a boot loop.

XSlayerX • 5 years ago

Can i use it to root my nexus 6 with 7.1.1 build number N6F27M ?

Dave Meakins • 5 years ago

Hi, I'm wanting to root a Nexus 7 2013 MOB30X, and the tool works fine until I get to click on Root. I get an error msg about twrp-3.0.2.0-flo file missing.
l have run update, no change. Tried downloading twrp file, not recognised. Not sure why it needs twrp as I didn't select Custom recovery (or rather I did then unselected it).
Am new to this, any advice appreciated, including how to rollback if needed.
Thx, Dave
