More "hope and change" now repackaged as as a woman of color. Unfortunately, many politcally uniformed Americans will get fooled again. Hasn't the so-called "progressive left" learned anything at all after Obama's eight year betrayal of the working class? I guess not.

The only problem with Hillary was that she was white?

And so yet another scoundrel comes rolling off the Democratic Party production line! The supply seems inexhaustible!

Thanks for this report that opened eyes of all those left who kept them wide shut.

When I pointed out that elections should be abolished, like in ancient Attica, as they are divisive, weaken and conflict people over meaningless minutiae and leave oligarchy grip on power in tact. I was accused of being anti-democratic.

Yesterday even Teresa May Arch MI6 converative pro aristocratic political puppet called new elections or new Bexit referendum divisive and hence must be avoided.

I hate to agree with her on that one small point.

Every elections in US is a setup for one and single purpose, to divide and conflict people via means TV popularity contest about superficial qualities of theatrical puppets and there scripted provocative statements written by behind the scenes untalented writers and staged by producers hired by ruling elite with stolen from working people money.

Arrested sensibities of electoral mob, yes mindless electoral mob of polling booth crawlers, who act upon their purposefully staged, insulted feelings, perverted emotions of sexual attraction or repulsion to political puppetry, promise of personal gain from electoral outcome or acting upon their fabricated by MSM propaganda political worldview, reek havoc among suffering population and spread huge foggy fart of inhuman stink and confusion among those still sane.

All that is an element of counterrevolutionary measures to suppress class struggle and to promote magical thinking about ghostly existence of political saviors to magically emerge through phony electoral voodo politics while blaming victims of this abhorrent regime for laziness and disengagement and prostituting false hope and blind believe, only peddled to replace rational thought and imperative of community self defense against ruling gangsters.

AH is just that, an agent not only of CIA but agent of political confusion and blatant purveyor of Identity politics of division that gave us in the past All American institution of White Supremacy.

Let's move writing about 2020 election to "intelligent reviews of bad literary fiction" section of WSWS if not for reasons I posited, at least for sake of truth in advertising.

"Kamala Harris met with Benjamin Netanyahu, one day after he announced a plan to expel 40,000 African migrants, branding them as “infiltrators” who pose a threat to Israel’s “Jewish character.”

Through the meeting, Harris completely ignored Israel’s sanctioned anti-Black racism"

Dawn Wolfson • 5 years ago

I predict almost none of these points will come up in mainstream discussions. One side will paint her as a champion of "progressive values", and the other side will focus on her alleged affair with Willie Brown. It will be the usual circus, lacking any substance whatsoever.

лидия • 5 years ago

She is also a lackey of Zionist colonizers of Palestine
"But recall that @KamalaHarris pandered to the anti-Palestinian lobby group @AIPAC by claiming that as a child she helped raise money for @JNFUSA, the racist Israeli state organization that ethnically cleanses Palestinians and steals their land"
https://twitter.com/AliAbun...

But to be fair, she was not one of USA Senators who had demanded to abolish 1st amendment to shield Zionist apartheid colony from USA citizens' boycott.

Ron Ruggieri • 5 years ago

Here is the problem with even discussing Zionism: The mainstream American news media -under the wink of Senator Chuck Schumer- daily declare that anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism. What follows is a strong association of the word Zionist with the word Jew. If few Jewish voices protest Apartheid Israel , then Jew and Zionist soon become synonyms.
But how few Jewish voices ! They are overwhelmed by numerous voices that are echoes of ex-socialist David Horowitz. All now righteous pillars of Zionist Israel breathing Old Testament wrath.
Find one INDEPENDENT Jewish voice in the mainstream capitalist news media ? On the Left there should be no heretical QUESTIONS !

лидия • 5 years ago

And is there any decent voices in the mainstream capitalist news media? Never mind their ethnicity or faith?

Ron Ruggieri • 5 years ago

I just replied. And I just read this on www.aljazeera.com :
" How Zionists won the body and lost the soul of US politics " by Hamid Dabashi ( March 6, 2018 ) .

Ron Ruggieri • 5 years ago

The price for even modest " success " in the capitalist news media is a soul destroying loss of intellectual and moral integrity.
" Celebrity " is used to corrupt public opinion. To deny that secular Zionist Jews dominate both Hollywood and the mainstream news media is showing a very un-Marxist disdain for facts. NAMES and biographical notes rarely lie.
I do note that conservative, right wing Jews - in matters unrelated to dear Israel- are often as critical of DNC based " identity politics " and bullying political correctness as any article published here at the World Socialist Web Site.
Now and then even Ben Shapiro makes sense. It is impossible for any political group to be complete pathological liars. That is why tolerance for FREE SPEECH is so important. The " enemy " might be expressing an unpleasant TRUTH.
Right wing " Red Eye Radio " is surprisingly lucid on the spurious nature of the Mueller Russia Investigation. The very guys who see " creeping socialism " taking over the Democratic Party.
An article I read in " Catholic Family News " ( with pre-Vatican II bias ) tells the simple truth about Zionist Apartheid Israel. And even the simple truth about the decay of the Catholic Church with its " adaption to [ God forbid ! ] MODERNISM ".
Bernie Sanders calling Trump a " racist " and Chuck Schumer deploring Trump's obsession with THE WALL ( Israel has also built an infamous and very racist WALL ) are morally corrupt hypocrites.
Why was Trump's " racism " ( so peculiar to Trump ) not unmasked long ago ? The " liberal " Democrats are smearing Trump daily ( as an agent of Putin ) For us democratic socialists it is bad enough that President Donald Trump is the LEADER of the American capitalist class - the Plutocrat-in- Chief . And for some reason also very popular in Apartheid Israel.
The leaders of the Democratic Party daily smear the white working class, mostly Christian, Americans who voted -out of desperation - for Trump : Forever " deplorables " ?

I always wonder what exactly happened with David Horowitz to turn him so emphatically back to front. Granted, his Deutscherist position had its weaknesses, but I do sometimes wonder if the CIA put something very very strange in his coffee sometime back in the 1970s.

Ron Ruggieri • 5 years ago

Horowitz began life as a Stalinist tutored " Red Diaper baby " . That explains the neurosis " identity ".

jb • 5 years ago

Ralph Schoenman......ISO style socialist-reformist, strong critic of Zionism and its history. He and his wife Mya hosted Taking Aim an online interview/blog show. Archives are still accessible. Book: "The Hidden History of Zionism". Then there's Norman Finklestein....http://normanfinkelstein.com/ consistent critic of Israels Zionist policies. ZioFascism. I only list these for readers who perhaps haven't read much truth about the apartheid state masquerading as a land of god.

Carolyn Zaremba • 5 years ago

I would add to that "The Invention of the Jewish People" by Shlomo Sand (Verso 2009). Don't be put off because it's published by Verso.

лидия • 5 years ago

I do not like Sand because he is still whitewashes Zionism. But his book is worth reading - just like books by Benny Morris - who is an open apologist of Zionist ethnic cleansing- because facts are true.

My motto :"Seek knowledge even from (some) Zionists"

Right wing talk radio on Martin Luther King Day promoted this article warning that the Democratic Party has been taken over by half-cracked " socialists " . From " The Hill " : " America the new Socialist frontier " by one Alexander G. Markovsky ( Jan.18 , 2019 ) .

Wrote Markovsky : " It seems that socialism is an infectious disease that everyone had to get to develop immunity. "

" This dog, expelled from Russia , acquired a new life in the United States and regained vitality in the Democratic Party ."

" As a Jew, I am perplexed by the Jews' remarkably irrational commitment to the Democratic Party and their formidable opposition to Donald Trump. "

Then Markovsky weirdly blames Jews as a people for being too obsessed with social conscience issues. They were wrong, he thought , to be passionate supporters of FDR in the Depression years.
Under decaying capitalism the Voice of Insanity grows louder !
But for decades now neo-con Democrats have made even " liberalism " a dirty word . After all . " liberalism " only opens the door to Bolshevism.

Ken • 5 years ago

Her start was because she was Willie Brown’s girlfriend
The “ex-girlfriend” is California Senator Kamala Harris.

According to the San Francisco Weekly, Harris and Brown met in 1994 when he was speaker of the state Assembly. He was 60, she was 29.

Prior to her running for office, Brown appointed Harris to two patronage positions in state government, the Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board and the California Medical Assistance Commission. These positions paid handsomely, more than $400,000 over five years.

At one point Brown and Harris were the talk of the town.

Right before Brown was sworn in as Mayor of San Francisco, legendary San Francisco columnist Herb Caen implied that the self described “Ayatollah of the Assembly” and “a girlfriend” would soon get married. In his book, “Basic Brown,” Brown quoted his wife Blanche as responding to the column by saying, “Listen, she may have him at the moment, but come inauguration day and he’s up there on the platform being sworn in, I’ll be the b***h holding the Bible.”

Does she have anything whatsoever to say about the fact that half the country can't pay rent or afford groceries? That the American lifespan is being shortened? Sorry to nitpick on the little things here, but just curious if any of that's been brought up at all.

Kamala Harris should have prosecuted the financial crook Mnuchin when she had the chance. Instead she gave a scumbag whose bank foreclosed on millions an "Obama pass."

To put it simply Kamala Harris is an Obama redux.

Sorry but I fail to grasp the gist of this reply. OP is discussing the absurd pointlessness of someone claiming race and or gender as a primary qualification for why they should be voted for. In terms of those in the working class, such individuals only serve to boost a microscopic subset of those groups into the stratosphere while the rest of that same subset's working class is made worse off.

Your response seems to mock that point but in a way that doesn't really make any sense. Can you expand?

Guest • 5 years ago
Mass Casualty • 5 years ago

To the contrary, it s the primary focus for those who engage in identity politicking ie the Dems, their pliant media, and their middle/upper middle class apologists. You’ll hear her claim the same drivel as all the other Dems yet their voting block will be attracted to her for her identity creds. The rest of your reply is vacuous and pointless. What a moronic strawman to claim that the working class needs to be “pure” or “noble” for a revolution to be successful.

Yours is a perspective lacking any historical understanding of revolutions, how they happen, and how they HAVE happened. Your words sound as if they come from the mouth of one who is privileged enough to welcome a return to the Obama era. And they are the same words spoken by apologists for fuedalism at the dawn of the bourgeois revolutionary period. And this drivel you speak comes at a time where significant parallels are being drawn to the revolutionary period in early 20h century Europe both on the world stage and in the working class responses to bourgeois dictatorial measures. Only now, the proletarianization of the entire planet has already completed making this potential revolutionary period far more likely to spread globally.

I would advise that you at least get an understanding of the socioeconomic forces at play and the historical precedence that you so cavalierly (and erroneously) throw around. There are very few on the comments of this Trotskyist outlet who are going to be friendly to such bourgeois apologies. In essence, you are merely shouting ahistorical babble at a cresting tsunami. Good luck.

Guest • 5 years ago
Mass Casualty • 5 years ago

Nothing you wrote about is even close to correct nor supportable (except maybe your attacks on my personality for which I’ll reserve judgement for those who actually know me and not some internet troll). It would seem you don’t know what a “right winger” even is if you think Trotskyists are “working in concert” with them. Your “brocialist” comment is the perfect badge of your ignorance. When I say that you have no historical context it is because you have literally ignored the vast bulk of history with your ranting. Like... the bourgeois revolutions that delivered this glorious bourgeois state you extol with its magical 2 party “freedom” circus. Or the sweeping revolutionary movements that threatened the bourgeoisie not even 150 years ago. Or the socioeconomic progression Of the capitalist system. Or the proliterianization of the planet... you literally must ignore the bulk of recent history to arrive at your grand statements.

I would challenge you to post a single piece of proof for any of your outlandish and sweeping claims by quoting the WSWS articles (in context of course) or by showing historical reference to all these revolutions you reference... but knowing that you likely haven’t read more than one or two, we’ll just watch you fade back into the ether whence you came. Like the rest of the trolls who come here. And since you’re adding nothing but vague distractions, I urge you to do so post haste.

When has it taken power in the United States?

Corwin Haught • 5 years ago

On the subject of MLK Day, Democracy Now! for several years aired the Rev. Dr.'s "Beyond Vietnam" speech but put it aside in recently in favor of a 1964 speech about the civil rights movement and South Africa dug up from the Pacifica Radio Archives. DN! going from promoting the anti-war side of King to promoting the corporate media-supported version of him says something about how far the pseudo-left has gone downhill.

Carolyn Zaremba • 5 years ago

DN has been moving to the right for years.

A couple of questions present themselves to my mind.

1. So she ratted out Al Franken in order to take his job?

2. Many Jamaicans I know have African, English, and Irish blood, and some hail out of Canada. So, if her mother is Tamil and her father is Jamaican, how did she get to be exclusively African American? I'm no geneticist, but…

3. With her right-wing professional and political roots showing, where does she get off wagging her finger at “the left” about their attitudes toward cops?

I watched the NBC news tonight and tried to keep my dinner down as they fawned over yet another pretty, young, female, tawny-skinned right-wing opportunist whom they set before us as some sort of fighter for the common man. Or woman. Or whatever.

I say it's spinach and I say the hell with it.

Carolyn Zaremba • 5 years ago

I agree with your final line!

Jim Bergren • 5 years ago

There is no difference in the "blood types" of people that is based upon "national origin". If one is injured and needs a transfusion of blood, the blood "type", for example O positive, is the same from an englishman as it is from a nigerian.

CH • 5 years ago

True. I was talking “blood” in the figurative sense, of ancestry and country of origin. I hope nobody thought otherwise. The remark that “I'm no geneticist” was meant in jest, since it's so all-fired important to the raci(al)sts.
