"The intensification of the US government’s pursuit of Assange is being spearheaded by the Democrats and associated media outlets, such as the New York Times, which have sought to link Assange, without the slightest credible evidence, to their Russian “interference” allegations."

It's 100% politically motivated.

"Meanwhile, even the Democratic electorate increasingly views the Russia investigation as a distraction. The same CNN exit poll showed that just 41 percent of the electorate views the investigation as “mostly justified,” compared with 54 percent who view it as “politically motivated.” At White House press conference, Trump calls reporter an “enemy of the people”

"Assange said her son was “an award-winning journalist, much loved and respected for his courageous exposure of serious high-level crimes, in the public interest,”

Everything the ruling establishment abhors.

"In essence, the protocol continues an eight-month cut off of all his communications with the outside world unless he agrees to give up his right to make political comments deemed detrimental to Ecuador’s foreign relations."

That is, telling the truth.

The strange thing about Ecuador's foreign relations is that they've gone and done a deal with the US military - plus they've gone and done a deal with the US military.

The export of oil is the nations biggest source of revenue, something which HAS to be traded in US dollars or the Neocon will bomb it back to a banana republic.

I'm continuously reminded of the quote from Trotsky in Their Morals and Ours when examining the role of the pseudoleft in relation to Julian Assange--"He who slanders the victim aids the executioner." Their complicity in the crimes against Assange must be exposed at every turn.

It’s a testament to the power of the media and the scurrilous duplicity of the pseudo left that these comments of Morrison have not raised a hair.If this was Tony Abbott 5 years ago, there would have been various sinister demagogic posters generated by the big name Australian pseudo-left parties attached to Labor or the Greens. But now,on Morrison,a character who I regard to the right of Abbott,we hear nothing.

It’s a pretty big call to think that Morrison is to the right of that maniac Abbott .. Both are utterly vile human beings , both unfit for public office let alone prime ministerships.
Unfortunately the Australian public that read our Murdoch controlled press have totally bought into the US State Dept’s worldwide smear and dicreditation campaign . To add to that Australia being part of the
5 Eyes Intelkegence Group our politicians are completely beholden to American interests .. end of story .. Last guy that stood up to America was Gough Whitlam . Look how that went .. I’m deeply ashamed of Australia’s Govts treatment of Jillian Assange , but unfortunately the reality is they never had any ability to aid him even if they wanted too .

I should of been clearer.I think he is to the right of where Abbott was 5 years ago when he was PM.My mistake.

Morrison is a thuggish, right wing know-nothing.He’s got a trophy in his office saying “I stopped the boats”-he thinks it’s funnny...like joking with his footy-head mates about Pamela Anderson and her pleas to defend Julian Assange.I remember when he held his first press conference when he engaged the navy to stop the boats. This arrogant thug was incensed that he had to be there in front of the public (on our pay).He told the media nothing and they dutifully obeyed, not persisting with any meanigful questions his whole time as Minister for Foreign Affairs.
You couldn’t string together enough 4-letter words to describe this very ignorant but (likely)temporary position holder.

Abbott-maniac?That’s right -the catchy “mad monk”...I think you doth protest too much.

The govt had every ability to change things in regards Assange from Gillard onwards.Locked into the 5-eyes-network or no,they are basically saying,if you are a foreigner overseas on an Australian passport, you’re a piece of hanging meat.Think about it.This merely reaffirms the ICFI’s opposition on the nation state system- that it is finished...as far as the government are concerned “the bell tolls for who?”.

Ditto, one of the worst things, is for the masses to do nothing.

Flick the switch, open the flood gates and expose the crimes of the ruling elite.....

Now that most of us know about the crimes that have been committed we need to respond or it will have been for nothing.

Some people have responded*

.... US Military Leaders May Face War Crimes Charges In International Court [The Mind Unleased]

the rules that politicians in the United States have written down on paper are not in accordance with the established principles of international law, which state that no one is out of jurisdiction when it comes to genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity.

*The war criminals have also responded by giving their military advance approval to extract their own from the ICC.
