I see the same type of pack mentality/group blaming here all the time. If I had a dime for every comment I've read from Republican party loyalists that blame the entire Democratic party for all the country's woes I'd be rich. Do I know the political leanings of the perp in this case? No, I don't, but experience leads me to believe that he's more apt to be on the left side of the political fence whether or not he considers himself a dem.

Personally, shifting the blame on to political parties helps take away responsibility of the offender. It also distracts all of us from the acts at hand further diminishing them. We should be focused on each individual in it's own unique circumstance and punish accordingly instead of obsessing over who they vote for (if at all).
