None of this will ever change the underlying economics. We have a trade deficit with China because labor their is very cheap, not because previous Presidents weren’t “tough” enough.

It would interesting to investigate if this growing tariff war with China is taking its toll on completely " respectable " Chinese Americans. I just read in the Providence Journal that Cranston Mayor Allan Fung , a strong Republican candidate for governor of Rhode Island , may have been the victim of " identity politics " sensitivity -if not blatant bigotry. While digging up excuses for an apparently " rent free " arrangement with the owner of his campaign headquarters (a paltry sum of $1500 ) Fung could be " digging all the way to China ", another candidate for governor( Patricia Morgan ) sarcastically remarked.
Also targeted as " suspicious " a number of Chinese based " Confucius Institutes " at the University of Rhode Island and elsewhere.
But if there were any serious prejudice against Chinese Americans in Rhode Island , Allan Fung would not be where he is today, mayor of Cranston and a formidable threat to the " neo -con " Democratic Governor Gina Raimondo.
( Come to think of it, Rhode Island Republican Patricia Morgan might also be the victim of " identity politics " sensitivity. )

And once again you make it about Democrats, who have nothing to do with this.

You’re looking at an article about Trump’s trade policies and you end up ranting about Democrats. EVERYTHING is about THE DEMOCRATS even when it isn’t. There’s obviously something pathologocial going on here.

Your compassion for the trauma of these " children at the border " is commendable. But there was Reign of Terror against " illegal " immigrants long before Donald Trump became president . And there have been BIPARTISAN attacks on the economic security - and consequently the mental health - of ALL working class Americans since the rise of neo-liberalism in the Reagan Era.
As a democratic socialist I will not lose any sleep over U.S. imperialism " losing " Korea anymore than I did when it " lost " China in 1949 . The whole world is not the American plutocracy 's to LOSE !
