Those w public insurance may access (CCS) community crisis stabilization programs during behavioral health emergencies. Call 1-800-981-HELP to learn your local (ESP) emergency service provider. Aftercare is still hard to find, but better to spend the days in a therapeutic setting than in an emergency dept.

Unfortunately, getting a bed in a CCS in Boston is not one tiny bit easier than getting a bed in a psych hospital.

The de-institutionalization of the severely mentally ill in the United States was a crime against humanity - a 50 year failure - and the cause of much tragic homelessness visible in any big city, visible in Kennedy Plaza in Providence, Rhode Island.
The US ruling class wants to invest a trillion dollars in upgrading nuclear weapons systems but cannot even toss dry bones at projects like upgrading the nation's mental health system.
The ruling class wants to invest trillions of dollars in an endless " war on terrorism " in the Middle East - which is nothing but a cover for the New Colonialism.
This capitalist- imperialist agenda has bipartisan support - with some disagreement on tactics not on any basic principles of plutocratic rule.
Both the Democrats and Republicans plan to attack social security and Medicare and Medicaid. In Rhode Island Hillary pal Governor Gina Raimondo is leading the attack on the working class, the elderly, the poor and disabled. She is even taking her royal time fixing the state's new state computer system - which is depriving thousands of EBT benefits . Where is all that money going ? Not to the homeless mentally ill !

Say what? The deinstitutionalization of the mentally ill was the work of liberals who wanted to save them from the nasty institutions.

As to your scare quotes around the words war on terrorism - tell them that in London.
