You know I've been in this hobby for a very long time (white dwarf #43 - 1983 being the first issue I owned - god I'm old!!!) and I can honestly not recall such an exciting time as now to be in the GW hobby, the departure of Kirby has really seen creativity and communication flourish, and with Necromunda now officially announced I feel like a young lad again, I really can't remember a time I felt so enthusiastic about the hobby, a massive double thumbs up to the new GW leadership if you are reading, tremendous stuff! (Maybe that should be more thumbs up as I plan on playing GS cult?)

bob • 6 years ago

Damn you are old ;)

75hastings69 • 6 years ago

Lol, cheers mate ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

75hastings69 • 6 years ago

Can we change "old" to "venerable"? lol

Goterix Tremere • 6 years ago

Venerable Lord Hastings?

Lybban • 6 years ago

Having been almost as long as you in the hobby i can only agree. Such a great turn of events. Also following you for a long time on warseer, your optimism puts a big smile on my face! Good times!

Ragnar Black • 6 years ago

:D Like this comment Hastings, GW do same for Mordheim and you have my loyality back as well. :D

75hastings69 • 6 years ago

Fingers crossed eh ;)

Spyrer represent!

And/or Arbites. I don't discriminate.

Lady Atia • 6 years ago

Hopefully we will also get some female Arbites sculpts this time *_*

Maxi • 6 years ago

If we get Arbites, I am so theming them off the Mega-City Judges... I AM THE LAW!!

bob • 6 years ago

hoo yea new spyrer armor would be so awesome !!!

ConradToskan • 6 years ago

I'm so hyped right now... and so damn happy ๐Ÿ˜€

75hastings69 • 6 years ago

I can't wait for this, as a fan of the original who has had my palette wetted by the recent SWA I have really high hopes for this. Also please they're going to use the SWA scenery as my stuff will have a dual purpose (well three if I count 40k). These standalone games are just what the doctor ordered, I love building up small squads and then adding to them. Thumbs up Specialist Games and GW in general.

Lady Atia • 6 years ago

Indeed - and another motivation to finally paint my Zone Mortalis board!

Can't wait for Escher, Ratskin and Arbites. Also maybe I should paint up some Genestealer Cultists in preparation ...

75hastings69 • 6 years ago

Me too......... and I just happen to have an absolute shed load of GS cult that I'll be able to pick from..... of course a few new minis would always be appreciated :)

Thorin • 6 years ago

yeah, I love the boxed games, how they explore different aspects of the universe and scale of conflict, present a nice, self-contained variation of rules but also allow for using the models between them. I need to get cracking on my GS Cult as well, as they can be used in Overkill, SWA and (hopefully) Necromunda and I love their narrative. Oh, and maybe Space Hulk, too, as GW hinted in response to someone's email in one of the recent WDs!

Irondoors • 6 years ago

I can't express how happy I am that they didn't *update* the designs. These look dated in the best way possible.

DundeeHammer • 6 years ago

Techno punk barbarian conversions here we come !

Didnt even need conversion, even with easier to model plastic

WHAT A DAY
WHAT A LOVELY DAY

Maxi • 6 years ago

They look so 90s and that's really freakin' great! Updated materials but still iconic to that setting.

Tretze • 6 years ago

The designs look bad, and they don't feel like the originals. Specially Goliaths

Nogle • 6 years ago

Can't agree with you less. Absolutely stunning models

Tretze • 6 years ago

Compare them to the original models and you will understand what I mean. The Goliaths have a different design, with too much armour an without proper punk hair.

Goterix Tremere • 6 years ago

Could be a specialist? Who knows what alternative heads they may have.

Goterix Tremere • 6 years ago

We only have 4 figures I think they look great but they are an decent evolution of the old designs.

asymmetricalxeno • 6 years ago

Need at least 6 boxes of Escher I think.

Wolfman UK • 6 years ago

Proves they can do good females *cough* sisters *cough* models look great and glad they are being updated be interesting if the rules are changed

Irondoors • 6 years ago

It's usually the faces where GW stumbles, and here they cheated by hiding the face ;D

HRDiagram • 6 years ago

The most sensible retort would be: then make them all helmeted or with their faces covered (like the SoS)! :D

John Jennings • 6 years ago

So so happy! ๐Ÿ˜„

Pablo Melon • 6 years ago

Isn't the laspistol a rumor engine ?

Lady Atia • 6 years ago

Yep ;)

Andrew White • 6 years ago

I know we've only seen 4 models, but this is looking as amazing I I'd hoped so far.

The slightly different bases (at first glance I thought they were sector mechanicus ones) do suggest there could also be new scenery too. Though, personally, I'm hoping for an extension to that line rather than anything distinct.

I almost wish they'd delayed release to have more gangs available at launch though. 12 months is a long time to wait to have all core gangs released.

Westrider • 6 years ago

The current box of Sector Mechanicus bases doesn't have any 25mm in it. So these might have a second assortment of those coming out along with them.

Lady Atia • 6 years ago

They look like a plastic version of the never released Zone Mortalis bases ^^

Westrider • 6 years ago

I hadn't seen the better pics of the bases. Now that I have, yeah, you're totally right. Definitely Zone Mortalis bases.

Lady Atia • 6 years ago

;)

These ladies will be mine *_*

Maxi • 6 years ago

YES!!!!1 GW gave it away with the "Deadly" Lasgun pic.

Pong • 6 years ago

Punk not dead !!!

Matt Crowther • 6 years ago

And i think we see why Shadow War was just a limited release! It was just the appetiser before the main event!

Goterix Tremere • 6 years ago

I'm extremely happy this is coming back, but I'm concerned that they will use the second generation of Ratskins, Scavvys, and Redemptionists (which I felt are poorer sculptors /reimaging ) as a jumping of point which wouldn't be so great

I wholeheartedly agree with 75hastings69 GW is in a new renaissance

Silverstu • 6 years ago

Escher are back! Awesome!!!! Never thought I'd see the day!!

Fomorian • 6 years ago

Really awesome news! Necromunda was one of my first GW systems back in the past and also my absolute favourite one from GW, beside Battlefleet Gothic and GORKAMORKA! Can't wait to see more new models for the other classic gangs and i really hope that we will also see new Adeptus Arbites models, that would be so friggin awesome รด_0 !!! ...

Also great to know that we will use the amazing new Shadow War Terrain sets and iam curious to see the new rules for Necromunda, this action point system is a new one! Maybe we also get an alternating activation system to :) ? ...

Brian Griffith • 6 years ago

So a lot of my hobby money/time is gonna be spent buying and converting Escher gangers.

Nova5lag • 6 years ago

Yaaaay! 100% will buy... Probably two boxes for the terrain.

Philip Foster • 6 years ago

Can't wait for Cawdor and Van Saar!

Thorin • 6 years ago

Wow, nice

Guest • 6 years ago
Lady Atia • 6 years ago

Well, we already have Genestealer Cult models available^^
