Dear Editor:

David Duke’s support for the anti-Semitic comments of newly-minted member of Congress, Mogadishu-born Ilhan Omar, should clear up any illusions about the malice of her actual beliefs. As a kindred Jew-hater, Duke read her words accurately. Moreover Omar’s back-handed apology is worthless, and condemnation by other Democrats is not enough.

Martin Luther King once wrote, “shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will.” Mere criticism of Omar reflects that shallow understanding, if Democrats actually believe it will make a dent in her deep-seated dogma.

Many have berated Pres. Trump, labeling him an anti-Semite. Yet unlike Nancy Pelosi et al, Trump responded correctly by telling Omar to resign. The US Congress is a place where robust disagreements are appropriate, but Omar’s comments cross the line of decency. The sooner she leaves, the better off we will be.

Omar apparently hates America. Her attempt to intimidate Elliot Abrams who is working on behalf of the government to help the people of Venezuela against the dictator Maduro by asking questions unrelated to Venezuela is evidence of her hatred of American policies which were to bring peace and safety in difficult political Central American governments. She is a traitor in my estimation to what America stands for.
She should be removed from all committees .

I watched her and her so-called questions. She was so disgusting because she only wanted to expound on her wonderful ability to call this man out for absolutely nothing. The DNC needs to commit to reforms period. It was Nancy Pelosi that deliberately appointed Ilhan Omar to the foreign affairs committee knowing very well that she supports BDS and is Anti Israel.

Every representative is given committee appointments. Perhaps this appointment is less desirable than other possibilities, we don't know. Don't make it sound like Nancy gave it to her to advance an evil agenda.

House Foreign Relations sub-committee is one of the most important subs; I don't understand why Nancy gave it to her, of all to which she could have appointed, in my opinion, this can create loads of trouble

The term racist is thrown out for any and everything these days depending on the eye of the beholder. There are now five generally accepted categories for data on race:
1) American Indian or Alaska Native.
2) Asian.
3) Black or African American.
4) Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander.
5) White.

So Jews are not a race based on this definition...the are a culturally and ethnicity defined group. Hatred for them is not racist.

Throwing her off the Foreign Affairs Committee is a good start; however, she should also be thrown out of Congress, and out of America.

Omar should never have been put on any committees! She should not be where she is! This can have no good outcome. She needs to go.
