I am bothered by the calls to "kill them all" or "ban Islam." I recognize that not all Muslims are jihadis; that there are Muslims who are disgusted by the "extremists" and who just want to go about their day to day lives. We have all seen posts on Muslims who have spoken out against the savagery of ISIS or Boko Haram.

And yet… and yet… most are silent. CAIR does not say word one against the slaughter of Christians. CAIR has nothing to say about the nonsensical historical distortions of so-called Islamic "scholars" (no, Moses and Jesus were not Muslims). No, CAIR and other Islamic organizations only howl about "Islamophobia" and "racism" (a complete distortion of the word, but then distorting words is one of the things they do best) and demand that the critics of Islam be silenced. They readily allocate to themselves the right to criticize and revile Jews and Judaism with outrageous calumnies, from calling Jews "apes" and "pigs" to spreading the medieval lie of blood libel (or its modern incarnation about organ harvesting; both completely false), but let anyone voice any criticism of Islam or Muhammad and they howl in outrage.

And there is much to criticize. Across the Muslim world, rarely a week goes by without new horror stories (and this is only what hits the international news). Honor killings. Forced marriage of girls under 14 — some under 12 — to grown men. The obliteration of Christians from ancient communities such as Mosul. Kidnappings of girls then forced to become the "wives" of jihadists. As Bernard Lewis wrote in The Crisis of Islam: Holy War and Unholy Terror, "…most present-day terrorists are Muslims and proudly identify themselves as such" (Chap IX). I see people protesting that Christianity too has a history of violence in the name of faith — the Inquisition comes to mind — but Christianity grew up: when was the last time Christians stoned or burned an "apostate"?

There are violent passages in the Torah (the exhortation to destroy the tribe of Amalek comes to mind); passages from the Christian scriptures have been used to justify persecution of Jews. But again, when and where in the past several hundred years do we see Jews or Christians acting on this? While an entire country, ISIS, proclaims their faith as the reason for their actions. And all over the Muslim world, Islam is held up as the justification for what we in the West can only regard as atrocities.

So while I reject a ban on Islam, and I completely reject the calls to "kill them all" I do recognize that Islam is a problem. That Muslims as Muslims may be a problem. That's not racist and it's not phobic, it's recognition of reality, just as recognizing that scorpions and rattlesnakes are a threat.

The reality is that the vast majority of Muslims — around two-thirds — live in countries which are over 80% Muslim. And of the remaining third, most are in countries which are at least 50% Muslim (Nigeria, Malaysia, Sudan) or have significant Muslim population (India, with over 170 million). Under 7% of Muslims live in Europe or the Americas. This means that the great majority of Muslims never has to cope with the "Western" world — the free world. Because the reality is that Islam, the basic beliefs of Islam, are incompatible with a free, open, democratic society. They are incompatible with a society which supports freedom of speech, freedom of religion, equal rights without regard to gender or religious belief. That is not "Islamophobia"; that is just reality.

After 9/11 President Bush said "We are not at war with Islam." Islam, however, is at war with us: with democracy, with equal rights, with freedom of religion, free speech. If that is how they choose to live in Muslim-majority countries, well, that is their choice, although I pity those who do not want to live that way. But those of us who do value our freedom have every right to say to them, "Not. Here. Not in our country. If you want to live under Sharia, there are 49 countries with a Muslim majority. If you choose to come to our country, you will adapt to our society."

Karl Popper (1902–1994) wrote, "Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them."

We need to stand against the cries of "Islamophobia!" and call them on their intolerance. If we allow Muslims to demand "tolerance" of their INtolerance, then our tolerant society will be destroyed.

It is up us to save the world by stopping them. If we don't do our best to educate them properly they will continue to teach their children the wrong things. I have read the Koran many times and the prohibition against murder is not mentioned as one of the tenets of Islam. Of course the books need to be changed. They need to updated to teach that we all pray to the God of Abraham. They use a different name of course, however the Koran does say this. If we can educate them properly then we will be doing the proper things.

I, too, have read the koran several times. What we never hear anyone describe, is that the Islam prophet plaguerized all the Korans' writings from the Hebrew writings of the Torah, Tanakh, BritHadashah, as well as non-cannonized historical writings from Israel's long past! He put his own slant on it, in order to clearly depict him & his people as superior to the Jewish & Christian peoples (& obviously, all non-moslems)! Anyone who has seriously read the koran, should also be able to attest to the fact that this muhammaed freak was seriously psychologically imbalanced! I believe this is why any moslim who has allowed themselves to hear/read the true Bible, makes for a quick convert from Islam. Knowing the Biblical Scriptures well; when one reads the koran, the first thought is "who the hell could ever really believe this sheep-dip"??? But, I guess if one has never heard anything from birth BUT the teaching of Islam; how would you know to question it? In Genesis 15:1-2 Yhwh speaks to Abraham and Abraham calls Him Adonai Yhwh. Adonai is "The supreme ultimate being".

King David in Psalm 110:1 says "YHWH said unto Adonai sit thou at my right hand until I make thy enemies thy footstool".

If Messiah is David's son, how does he call him Adonai? He can only do so if Messiah is the God man. In other words "God who became a man" in order to redeem man.

Then why did Maimonides rule it was permissible for Jews to convert to Islam but not Christianity to save their lives. Christians engage in what for a Jew would be considered idol worship. Muslims worship Hashem however distorted his word is by them.

Maimonides does not consider Christianity as idol worship. He says in the Mishneh Torah that they use an intermediary to connect with God which is acceptable for them. He refers directly to Jesus of Nazareth by name and explains that this has brought millions of people away from idol worship into believing in One God. This is monotheism.

If that's what Maimonides ruled, then he was very mistaken. Muslims worship hashatan, NOT HaShem.
