It's not who you are, what you believe in, it's whether you play ball. You stand up to the oiligarchy, IMF, World Bank, WTO, G8, G20, you go against the money flow and you're a bad guy. From what I understand the new Yemeni government is fundamentalist Islamic but so is Saudi Arabia. Say what you want about any government, if you play ball, the US is your friend. You think you can stand up against the wealthy elite, you're going to suffer. We see it time and time again. You either bleed to death slowly to feed the vampire lust of the wealthy elite or you die quickly standing up to them. And we always blame them for not wanting to be feed bags for the wealthy elite.

That is most likely as resources dwindle and great migrations begin. Hired hands of the 1% will protect the stores.

‘United Nations agencies have estimated that 462,000 Yemeni children under five years of age are already suffering severe acute malnutrition, putting them at serious risk of death from starvation and malnutrition-related disease.’

I guess almost half a million Yemeni babies aren’t as beautiful as a handful of Syrian ones, eh, Mr. Trump?

Jim Brown • 7 years ago

Baby's are starving daddy's out fighting the people that will supply food. Maybe it's time for them to quit shooting and put that religious crap to the side and feed your kid.

gmatch • 7 years ago

Yemen is a US/UK supported genocide! In fact US/UK have reached the cruelty levels of the Third Reich. Question is: what are we going to do about it? Right - writing and not fighting.

Jim Brown • 7 years ago

The same thing is true about the Palestinians They are smart people but I equate them to poor people in America. No matter how poor you are if you work hard in school people will help you get a higher education. I you get an education you can make more money and move out of the neighborhood. Better yet for them they should move out of the neighborhood get a job and go to school and never look back. Know; they want to cry about thing that happened before they were born. For the life of me I can't understand that.

If you stay and fight you are fighting the problems of yesterday. If you see greener pastures over the hill I suggest for a better life you go over the hill. Religion, Preterism are not worth hate and killing. How stupid can that be.

Tell me why the powers that be in 1948 or 1949 thought that the jews had a right to reclaim their home? If my family was involved in a fight 60 or 70 years ago I sure would want to die for that today. Especially if all I had to do is become an immigrant and move else where. Do you really think the USA should go back to the Indians? This kind of thinking is going on all over the world and all it will do is cause more fighting and for what?

Hhmmm, wonder if literacy rates have anything to do with the problems over there since you mentioned education?

The Arab region includes the following countries: Algeria, Bahrain, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, Malta, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Syrian Arab Republic, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen. In 2008, UNESCO estimated that in the Arab region, “40 % of those over 15 years of age – nearly 70 million people - are illiterate.

It's the same in the south in this country. Keep them stupid and you can feed them any kind of crap you want them to follow and they do it. How could any in there right mind vote against their best interest as far as health care but they do that too. We have Trump enough said.

Jim Brown • 7 years ago

I don't know what kind of game the people from Yemen are playing but from what I understand the Iranien's are pulling their strings. I was taught as a young boy don't bite the hand that feeds you. This world is all messed up today I am a liberal not a bleeding heart fool. You feed and educate them today they shoot you tomorrow. Sometimes the only answer is to kill them that's why we have wares.

beaglebailey • 7 years ago

You are not in any way a liberal if believe what you wrote. Liberals don't believe that wars settle anything. The people in Yemen aren't playing any games, they are pawns caught between their government and the Saudis and the American military.
You sound more like an uneducated person who doesn't know what is happening in the Yemen genocide. And that is what is happening in Yemen. Genocide. Both this country and the Saudis are committing war crimes because they are targeting the civilian population.
You should read about the Nuremberg trials before you comment on this anymore.

Jim Brown • 7 years ago

You are right I don't know all the issues. From what I here on Trump false news Iran instigated the the people of Yemen to overthrow the government to increase Iran power. Iran want's nothing more than to destroy Saudi Arabia. What would you do if Mexico decided to take back Texas to make South America more powerful maybe they would through in California to boot. As a liberal I am smart enough to know the past is the past. There is no problem that can be solved by reasonable people. There is no solution for problems with unreasonable people till one becomes dominate. I like the way we handled most of what happened after the second world war.

gmatch • 7 years ago

...you should be ashamed! As an American you are as guilty as the German people you accused in Nuremberg. Don't write this bull.

Jim Brown • 7 years ago

Conservatives start wars and liberals finish them. Not because they want to but because they have to. Nuremberg trials only happened because we won the war. I wouldn't be to quick to judge both sides did a lot of killing. I would go as far as to say conservatives cause poverty. Conservatives and greed go hand in hand. Liberals are the ones that are willing to give to others for a better world.

Well now that this is exposed the United States will be shamed into corrective action.

Just kidding, the United States is shameless.

Who was the Commander in Chief who engineered this atrocity? And which party does he represent? Remember all those pretty speeches by St. Barack? We actually only have one party in this country - the Capitalist Party, whose leaders only care about one thing - profit margins. Criminals, all of them.

American "Exceptionalism"- Exceptionally Evil

Kalen • 7 years ago

Yemeni should create White Helmets. No White Helmets no coverage in MSM, no Oscars, no one gets hurt, out of sight out of mind and those Yemeni or Syrian children who did get hurt were up to no good in the first place.

This is abhorrent excuse for morality of all those US intellectual elites running medial propaganda machine, those lowlifes who crawl this Earth begging to be squashed.

adiantum • 7 years ago

Compare the press coverage of the chemical attack in Syria with that aimed at exposing the hunger campaign perpetrated by the Saudis in Yemen. We see children dying from chemical inhalation in the first case--and, nothing at all! in the second. The US cannot stand to watch children die when the act is allegedly done by its enemies, but it has no problem ignoring the same thing if it is done by its friends.

Read today he is sending a naval unit to the North Korean area--probably so he can begin bombardment of that country in the near future. He is learning what it takes to get the support of the American people--war and the macho threat of war. The consequences will rain down upon us for decades.

Agree. We can ignore the beautiful babies in Yemen.

Thank you for this reporting. It comes as no surprise that the U.S. government is playing a major role in this perverse policy to maintain its alliance with one of the world's most repressive societies, but the mainstream media is too busy cheerleading and/or asking the wrong questions to bother with this humanitarian disaster.
