The economy is not in recession, if you adopt the technical definition. But why should travel be prioritised as an industry? Why not pubs? Shops? Hairdressers? Child minders? So many industries affected, that travel (or more especially, holiday travel) unfortunately ranks far behind in the list of deserving causes.
The great tragedy is that Worzel Gummidge is oblivious to the coming storm. He needs to urgently wake up and remember the 1980s. It's still not too late! He has another 2 months to take decisive Government action, instigate Project Birch public ownership of UK companies; and therefore protect the remaining Aviation, Airline and Travel Industry jobs and workers employment security before the Furlough ends.
The UK economy is now officially in Recession. Will Worzel Gummidge wake up in time before UK Airways crashes into the mountain and millions of jobs are destroyed?
