It is frankly unacceptable that it seems the Government learnt no lessons from the collapse of Thomas Cook last September and that the TW headline states the Government is only now "starting to understand the importance of the outbound sector". A complete farce! The horse has already bolted from the stable twice now! If Ministers had really understood and appreciated the importance of the UK outbound travel sector they would have used the Treasury's Project Birch public ownership scheme to take a financial stake in Virgin and support a Crown Jewel of the UK Travel and Aviation industry.
