Wendy just to let you know that at long last Thomas Cook have settled the claim against them on Thursday the 31st of May they were found guilty after their failed appeal. At the start we were just asking for the £55 that they charged for the name change (to include middle name) after 4 months we went to small claims court. FourThomas Cook employees were involved in this scam and I think this is as good as theft,as we both know that the middle name is not necessary, in the end their costs for £400 was refused, and the cost of their solicitor was charged against them this has taken nearly a year to come to an end an has cost them £770. It just make you wonder how many other people are are ripped off by Thomas Cook and never take it any further. They ignore you untill the bitter end thinking that you will forget it and walk away, in this case they were very wrong. I now will take this to ABTA and the Consumer Acc: and any other organization that wants to know I have been in disscussion with Watchdog and I just hope they take it up now the claim has been won. More people need to know what a load of scammers and con artists they realy are. RodH

Thank you for the apology. Rest assured your thousands of £s taxes are not subsidising me. I don't need subsidising. I've never said all Thomas Cooks complaints are wrong, only the one you're talking about, presuming you know the whole story, and it is as you have related.
Just for your information I have never worked for Thomas Cook, but I have worked in the travel industry and sold many airline tickets, hence I know that middle names are not required!

Hi Wendy its me Rod we eventual got our day in court and THOMAS CROOK lost we got all we asked for inc; costs against them so a £45.00 bill escalated to £250.00 not inc costs of over £100 took nearly 9 months but all's well that end well Rod

Somebody working for Thomas Cook refused an emoloyee of mine boarding because the ticket did not have the same name on it as her passport (middle name) this has been admited by Thomas Cook as their mistake, but not until it went to Small Claims Court, where they lost hence the Judgement for us, this has taken 8 months and they are contesting the expences incured in this case I can assure they are reasonable for the time and expenditure we have incured, I would not endanger the case as a whole by inflating the costs, I am telling you the truth and the facts as they are. You are right millions of people travel every day without a middle name on the airline ticket and it is not needed BUT IN THIS CASE THAT IS WHAT HAPPENED and she was charged £50+ £5 for the credit card to have her name changed so she might board the plane. The question I ask is how many others have payed this charge and never contested it. RodH

Thomas Cook are a travel agent and sell flights for all airlines. They also sell other companies package holidays, so it could have been one of many airlines - idiot!. Thomas Cook Airlines only show the gender, first initial and surname on their tickets. As long as that information matches the passport information, that is all that is required.

I'm not sure why you are fixated with who I work for but just for you - I don't work. Ok?

I wanted to know who you worked for because from the way you spoke you gave the impression you either worked for TC or you where in the Travel industry, you have answered my question, you do not work, so why are you so adamant that TC are so good and incapable of doing any wrong, they had tens fof thousands of genuine complaints made against them last year we must be all wrong hey Wendy, I just hope the thousands I pay in taxes are not subsidizing you, making it able for you to sit there making coments about something you obviously know nothing about and is nothing to do with you, I have so many e-mails fo support and stories of like experences with the way TC treat complaints you would keep quiet. At least have the balls to leave them there for all to see.... I can paste your comments back here fro you if you have had a slight  lapse in memory....wont be any bother.

You talk about people commenting on posts that have nothing to do with them...as far as i can see you whole rant has nothing to do with you, you weren't even there at the time!!!
So maybe you should take your own advice of "minding my (your) own business"...and get a life and find something else to occupy your time away from the troubles of rather young ladies!

Only stating facts!  If a judge found against them for that, I'm not surprised TC aren't happy. It's an absolute farce. Thousands of people travel every day with no middle name on their tickets. How many people would be denied boarding and complaining if this wasn't the case! Correct gender, first name and surname are all that is needed.  Infact I'm struggling off the top of my head to think of an airline that actually gives a field to enter a middle name.  Out of curiosity, which airline was it?

Try asking how many people have middle names and never had them on their tickets?  I've never had a problem - like thousands of others. Airline ticketing systems don't require middle names!

Thomas Cook denied her boarding because her middle name was not on the ticket if you are calling me a liar them say it, This is what happened, do you think we would have got a Judgement against them if this was not so. Just thank God that you have got away with it for so long. Do you think I would be making faulse accusations against them on line and leave myself open to slander, think before you post, I would not be in comunication with my MP, ABTA,CAA,The Consumers Assocation, Trading standards and Watchdog based on lies. On her passport she has a middle name that she does not use the TC rep filled ind her name properly but omited he middle name, tell me how many other people they do this to, she was at the time 19 and off on her first holiday TC have dragged this case out now for 8months and and with a County court judgement against them are sill causing problems,

She can't have been that young if she booked a holiday, and presumably she checked the booking form before she signed it?  It's too be hoped she didn't come across any real problems whilst away, or she would never have coped!

Something I forgot to mention in my first comment was that  a Jade Ferris of Telford booked and payied for a holiay from Thomas Cook the TC representative filled in all the forms at the TC shop, when Jade arrived at the airport she was refused boarding because her details had been filled in wrong, she was then told she had to pay £50 to change the details so she could board the aircraft, as she did not have a credit card and TC would not accept cash she had to make phone calls to find someone to pay this penalty,can you imagine the panic that this young girl suffered at this time with the clock running out on her holiday? Tell me Sam how many customers of TC are made to pay for the mistakes you staff cause, and ask yourself are they genuine mistakes or a way of extracting more money from panicked passengers. I dont envy Mr Weihagen as he not only the recession to contend with but also the terrible attitude of some of his staff, his customer service department is the worst I in all my 65 years is insulting to put it mildly. £900 million in debt shares dropped by 75.05 in the last 6 months (ftse market data) tend to say it all a certain Daniel Petty in the Litigation Department is prepaired to jeopardize tens of thounds of pounds worth of bookings for the sake of £45.00 God help you Sam.
