Once the FCO issues its updated Travel Advice, the Key Question for Travel Insurance Companies is do their policies now being sold cover customers for emergency treatment or repatriation for Covid-19 illness if it is contracted while staying in an overseas resort?

As with all insurance policies, the individual policy wording will confirm to the policyholder what is and is not covered. Presumptions should not be made. For certainty, seek Travel Insurance that is designed to operate across all low, medium and high risk destinations and does not carry an FCO Advisory exclusion.

So presumably Travel Insurance policies will be valid for customers travel to all countries, except the ones to be listed as red / high risk on the FCO Travel website.
