What on earth is going on at TUI? Customers are totally confused. Jet2 states it will recommence flights and holidays on 1 July, but TUI still states on its website that it will recommence them after 11 June. What is going on? Why is there not a united front from airlines, tour operators and travel agents?

Robert Sturdy • 5 days ago

About time, they realised what a complete mess they have made of it,after supporting them for 40 years, they treat agents and customers,so badly. I rang the agents 1 couple of weeks ago,and they said they couldnt help a third party agent, and we had to wait for someone to call us.No one ever calls you. Its disgaceful, how it has been handled by TUI.If they expect agents to support them in future they are going to have to do a heck of a lot of grovelling.

I've been issued a refund on 15th April received an email to confirm but no moneys to date and its nearly 6 weeks now was due to travel on 6th May. When I rang them I've been fobbed off and told to ring a free phone number which I knew didn't work, then on another two occasions after they took my details they just cut me off the line which is very rude seeing as it takes over an hour to get answered. The law states we should have refunds after two weeks just not good enough.

TUI are currently trying to sell holidays to Greece (Halkidiki) departing on 15 June when the Greek government have declared that international flights won't happen before 1 July. Do they know something the rest of us don't or just maximising their income? As regards speed of refund, it took 8 weeks to get my money back from TUI after being promised it would be within a week then 4 weeks. My brother got his money back from Jet2 in 10 days. Unfortunately TUI have a bit of a monopoly but they will certainly not be my first port of call for future holidays - I just don't trust them.

Yes indeed, this has now become an issue of trust and integrity for TUI. Customers are totally confused. Jet2 states it will recommence flights and holidays on 1 July, but TUI still states on its website that it will recommence them after 11 June. What is going on? Why is there not a united front from airlines, tour operators and travel agents?

andy • 6 days ago

just more lies from tui.ive waited over the 28 days for my ten thousand pound refund, called tui back on the 28th day for an update about my refund and got the reply you will get your refund when you get it,told them i would have to start a small claim against them as i have been told 28 days for the refund, now i am basicly now being told you will get it when we decide, and i was told good luck with the courts, they are closed, then the rude lady hung up.contacted them back after seeing this post and receiving the same sorry email from tui,and ive been told I should have it back soon !!! tui the lies just keep rolling of your tounge

James K • 6 days ago

TUI is digging itself even deeper. Situation didn’t change at all - they are still unlawfully forcing people to accept vouchers without which you cannot request cash refund. #neveragaintui

Jack • 6 days ago

James, I think you might want to get your facts right before making slanderous posts.. I can't see any of the other airlines making it easier to get a refund. You try getting hold of Ryanair or Jet2 :-) From what I've heard it is impossible.

James K • 6 days ago

Are you serious? Wizzair - the default option I was offered was voucher with 20% bonus, but it needed to be accepted within 3 days. Otherwise automatic cash refund was issued (it may take a while - which I understand). Travel lodge refunded immediately, Hilton refunded immediately, Airbnb also issued quick refund. Should I go on? No one gave my such a run for my money as tui did. Conclusion - in the future I will book everything myself and right now I’m just comfortably waiting for chargeback. TUIs behaviour and hypocrisy is absolutely disgusting.

Jack • 6 days ago

I am serious.
Can't remember mentioning any of the companies you are referring to.
Anyway, hope you feel better soon!

James K • 5 days ago

I literally have no idea how to respond to that. Judging by the level of your reply - are you a TUI employee (maybe upper management)? If yes - then no further explanation is needed. If no - you have what it takes to be the next (and probably only) TUI customer. Good luck.

Chris Williams • 6 days ago

Jack, you okay? Need me to call someone for you?

James K • 6 days ago

Oh, and I forgot to add that work colleague of mine already received his BA refund as well. So not sure what was slanderous about my post but I am sure it’s not me who need to get the facts straight.
