Operators and agents breaking the law, unfairly refusing to refund customers monies, sticking to terms and conditions only when it favours them, insisting consumers pay in full for holidays that they know will be cancelled, it is not rocket science that trust has plummeted!! The travel industry has turned into modern day "Lord of the Flies", waiting for government to bail them out before they kill each other.

If the Government didn't bail out Thomas Cook and Cox & Kings, two of the biggest casualties last year (albeit C&K were bought out of Administration by A&K) then there's very little hope that a mass bail-out of the travel industry is on the radar.

The businesses that survive will be those that:
a) Have conducted themselves in an honourable way.
b) Have the financial resources to withstand a post-Covid & Brexit shock.

And, I would add, are not members of ABTA. The badge is now corrosive to customer trust.
