I would just say to BALPA that a far better way to hurt Mr O,Leary is rather than going on strike they should work to rule and stick to every single rule in the book with no cutting corners when on the ground such as makeing sure that every single seat in the aircraft is fit for flying (no loose seat backs ect) every toilet is in full working order and the aircraft is clear of ALL loose items on the floor before boarding. allthough most is down to the cabin crew the Captain has overall responsibility for the safety and and fitness to fly of the Aircraft so he would be within his rights to check himself that all was in order. the pilots would still be paid but Mr O Leary whould be unable to criticize them for carrying out the duty of a Captain. and for those that think i am bonkers go away and fully read the responsibility of airline pilots?
