MONZO & Starling Bank debit cards are completely free to use abroad at both ATM and when using your card to pay for goods and services. I have a card issued by both of these banks which I just use for travel.
Shop around, plenty of ways to avoid overseas transaction fees on credit cards and debit cards. It’s ignorance if people don’t know the fees levied for differing transactions. Research and find most effective way of spending overseas and extra transaction fees can be a thing of the past.
It is not a rip off at all it is just the card holders who expect everything for nothing and through pure ignorance do not know the terms of trading. My bank charge £1.99 per transaction if I need to pay on plastic, proven by transactions in Spain Italy Czech Republic Ireland and Portugal this year.
Is the Halifax Clarity Credit card still free of bank admin/transaction frees?
