Whenever I arrive by Train at Gatwick I wonder who is the Genius who placed notices advising those with Cases should use the sole, low capacity, plodding Lift. instead of the Escalator. Fortunately most Passengers ignore. Lift (or Lifts) cannot cater for the numbers involved. Platform crowding / congestion is due to sporadic frequency of Train Services, not the escalators. A useful facility would be fully detailed Indicator Boards elsewhere, other than in the Booking Hall, as these are invisible to those who have passed through the Barriers, but missed their intended service.
