I find this remarkable considering DNATA have recently poached 5 senior Expedia staff in the UK market - all left Expedia within a close amount of time. Very hypercritical.

Intresting to see how this will play out. My thoughts are it could get really messy based on my employment law background. A lot of case studies show this could be a bay move for the 'If Only' 5. I hope they got legal advice befor they handdd in their notice!

Send them to the Tower and throw away the key
You would expect a controlled exit as opposed to an exodus...Pea Soup comes to mind
very thick and not very popular

At last bit of realism in this conversation. Dnata is huge compared to ifOnly (compare their ATOLs) and no matter how popular Andy Freeth and his team are they won't have the dnata resources so can't be so open handed with fam trips and hospitality etc. Unless ifOnly have lots of resources to draw on?

Quite right Tony.
Smell a big rat. As Jude Judy says (I love her and she is always right)
''If something does not smell right then it is a lie ''
IF ONLY by virtue of its present standing in the market place DOES NOT HAVE the clout to fund this ' monumentally high ' expansion in meeting either a massive new wage bill - additional working capital - new heavy bonding.
Finally - THOSE WHO GOVERN BEST = MAKE THE LEAST NOISE
Hope there 5 large gardens somewhere - Try Iraq.

Perhaps you should look a the cash reserves declared in their public accounts before casting stones.

Have you ever heard of '' RINGFENCING '' what ever that figure is it cannot be used to increase new capital which the CAA and A.B.T.A. will want nor can it be used to pay for an increased bond. The innocent party here is IF ONLY.Can you honestly see such a small company looking at a probably £500k increase in costs

Peter • 2 months ago

Well done DNATA I hope you win your case, for 5 to leave at the same time is clearly a set up who were paid very well for their services. This article indicates that Arabia, Asia and Australisia are IF Only strongholds - this is clearly not the case with such a small A.T.O.L.
I would suggest that the new salary bill - when and if it happens - will increase by as much as £250/300k per annum. This is not going to happen. Sadly, what we now have is five lonely wandering minstrels who have totally lost direction - maybe - DNATA are better off without them.

Brand protection and dependant as to what was in their contracts regarding non compete. Taking top people from one business to a major competitor is going to cause major disruption and Dnata have every right and logic in delaying this as long as possible. It may cost them a few pennies but at the same time buy them time to limit the damage the ex employees can do to their existing business and client base.

There's more to this than meets the eye!

Chris • 2 months ago

such as?

Maz • 2 months ago

I've heard the rumours on the jungle drums, but everyone (including me) will just have to wait to see how it plays out.

Chris • 2 months ago

What rumours?

Maz • 2 months ago

Rumour: an unofficial interesting story or piece of news that might be true or invented, and quickly spreads from person to person. But not on public comments on a website ;)

What's the point of posting then if you can't say anything and just make a vague statement? Thanks for the definition but didn't ask for that.

Really, how pathetic is that, people have decided to leave, let them go , be graceful about it. ! Why use the strong arm. To me this doesn't reflect well on DNATA and will cause them bad publicity and ill feeling amongst the agency community. In my personal opinion they are not doing themselves any favours here.

John • 2 months ago

Be relaistic Harv if 5 people were leaving your company that could cause
major disruption and financial cost that could potentially cost you or
fellow employees their job further down the line would you not want your
employers to try and protect your future.

Harv • 2 months ago

They are only delaying the inevitable and causing ill feeling - its a david and goliath situation. - with respect to If Only you can't see them toppling DNATA - they left the business months ago. At the end of day will live in a democracy, its not Dubai. I think DNATA are the one that will look stupid. this makes me want to support If Only even more

It all depends what was in their contracts - the five signed them and so they should stick to their terms
