I'm not sure how "long term letting" changes things in the accommodation sector as this is actually quite common in the hostel/boarding house sector providing accommodation for contract workers. The real issue has been around compliance with regulations pertaining to accommodation that many B&B establishments do not adhere to yet unfairly continue to operate, supported by various booking platforms, without sanction.
