That is great BUT the rest of the roads in Namibia are a total disaster!! All you see is broken chassis / springs / blown out tires. Any vehicle trying to travel overland from one point to the next is getting totally destroyed. The roads are so corrugated and hardly passable. When you have to drive at 40km/hr to navigate the roads it creates a very bad impression on the country by visitors and something urgently needs to be done. It is costing companies a fortune to repair vehicles and rescue clients and this has to be passed onto the clients down the line. Namibia has become very popular destination BUT something urgently needs to be done to make the travel experience more enjoyable and not leave a bad taste in travellers mouths. Namibia Tourism needs to address this with the relevant government parties.
