We drove up to Lake Tanganyika last winter (June July) via Bangweulu, Kasanka and the various amazing waterfalls (there are dozens - you can literally do a waterfall tour) to Ndole Bay SW shore of Lake Tanganyika - I cannot recommend it enough - superb trip - no other tourists at all.
