I loved Snowdonia when I went.
I'd advise against relying on credit card limits instead of a cash emergency funds.
In an absolute emergency (e.g. medical accident or injury that stops you from being able to continue working), it's hard to predict whether you'll be able to withdraw cash from the credit card.
Whereas with cash in a current account, you know you can always go to a bank branch and get the money out.
You're right! Although I do have an interactive brokers debit card too which can borrow against my investments on margin, I can use that if in a tight spot. I'm keeping around $5k in cash now.
Oh nice! Wouldn't mind living in a rural property for a while. We visited Snowdonia recently and I got to understand why retiring in Wales is popular over here.
