Best of luck to you both starting up your new life in Sweden! There seem to be so mean positives of living there, which just surely outweigh the obvious negative of a higher cost of living (?)

Congratulations on the big move, especially during these uncertain times. I've no doubt it's the right one and am very jealous of the opportunity! I've only been to Sweden once (For Eurovision of all things) but found the place beautiful and friendly, if a bit expensive.

Best of luck to the Mrs as well, no doubt it was a big ask of her to move too and hopefully she is loving it as well.

Great to hear that you all made it over safely and in one piece - what an epic journey!

Those photos you sent of your island gave me some great memories of being in Stockholm!

A shame that you didn't quite get to £200k but you never know, with the stockmarket just doing its own thing, despite what is going on in the world.

Sounds like you've got a great package from your employer, that lunch card is unbelievable!

Even with the lunchcard, we've had to cut a lot of foods out of our diet due to them being more than 4x the cost. Parmigiano-Reggiano being one of them, I'm gutted!

Enjoy this experience, there will definitely be ups and downs, but generally the first year is awesome as you are adapting to a new environment.

Yeah we still feel very displaced. The language is tough too, we thought we'd be speaking it quickly, but our practice has just about stopped now!

Sweden is a lovely place - I wish that I had moved there after my Erasmus year in Goteborg (I would have graduated with a 2:1 BEng and needed to return to the UK to eventually get a MEng 1st and never returned.

Have a great time over there. It'll teach you a lot about life and yourself.
