"Real woke moment" as used here: a little harrumphing at the septagenarian boys club meeting at Mickey D's at 7:30 AM on a weekday.

xrxtec52 • 3 years ago

roo52, Go ahead and downplay the anger of some of us "older" Americans (particularly those of us that are ex military), and the lengths we'd go to, to protect our families, our country, and our property. We didn't spend years of our lives, 24/7, doing our country's business, to watch a bunch of Leftists/Marxists run roughshod over us and what we love.......

JIm G • 3 years ago

We vets took an oath to defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign, AND domestic.
roo52 and his ilk will look for trouble they won't want to find looking back at them.

Kangaroo52 • 3 years ago

Jim G, you exercise your constitutional rights and I'll exercise mine. Your cowardly stare doesn't bother me one bit.

"Boast" said the person who used the name of his military unit as a nom de guerre here, LOL!

pete39 • 3 years ago

I don’t consider myself “ex military.” I’m a retired Marine awaiting my next orders, wherever they may come from. My Oath has no expiration date.

Kangaroo52 • 3 years ago

Oh. Yes, I'm aware of the security detachments under the Department of the Navy.

Kangaroo52 • 3 years ago

I don't downplay it one bit. I'll match my military service against yours any day of the year. Nobody's "running roughshod." Nobody's threatening your precious little white families. Y'all are just mad at the wrong people, that's all.

You'd have no way of knowing. You sound like the type who tries to pick up women in bars by claiming to have been a Medal of Honor awardee

Concerned Conservative • 3 years ago

Many people are voicing their frustration with the anarchy and the systematic elimination of our culture as Americans, but that it where it ends. No conservatives are out in the street giving back mayhem to the Left. The communists have invaded our country after years of cold war and I make these silly comments that I don't like it. Who will lead the conservatives to unite in some way to stop this madness? I'm an old man but I'll do what I can to save this country.

ICONOCLASTS WILL NOT LAST: This spiritual warfare is where the RUBBER MEETS THE ROAD.LW individuals, with an anti-Christ, or evil spirit, are serving satan. They cannot confess Jesus came in the flesh to seek & save the lost.WE SERVE KING JESUS. In any event, if they make the mistake, of backing us into a corner, IN hardcore militancy-------see Green Beret's comment☆☆☆☆☆" They could burn all the books, tear the statues down, but they can't take CHRIST FROM ME!!"

MAJUSARET94 • 3 years ago

We have no justification to defend images of Jesus, of any color or race.

But unless we assume observers of artistic depictions of Jesus are ignorant of the fact no one really knows what Jesus looked like, this issue has no validity.

So I am not offended of the demand we stop depicting Jesus as exclusively white. Makes no difference to me. I am offended any would assume I am so ignorant as to think Jesus had to possess the melanin of white European.

If you want to use an African (Asian, Indian, Australian Aborigine, etc.) model to paint your depiction of Jesus, feel free.

The destruction of artistic expression that has facilitated understanding is obscene.

paulrod • 3 years ago

Actually, some of us feel the justification to defend images of Jesus is based simply on the animosity of the Left to Him. Whatever they're against, I'm for.
Uh, God, what's the CEP for a lightning bolt?

pete39 • 3 years ago

Jesus was born in Bethlehem, never traveled more than 300 miles from there. Israel, being the North Africa on the Med Sea has a mix of light and dark skinned people, and all points between. In Italy the further north you go the lighter the skin and hair. The closer to the Med you go the darker.
Jesus was also a Jew. The only black Jew I know of, although I know there must be millions more, is Sammy Davis, Jr.

Slowly but surely the "woke" crowd is approaching the line. However, they have not the slightest idea what lies in store for them should they cross that line. And it won't be pretty.

Good column, Mr.Ahlert.

This is absolutely accurate: "One can vote for civilization, the Constitution, the Rule of Law, and freedom of religion — or one can vote for Democrats."

cjmcd • 3 years ago

Personally, my Jesus has a bit of a sense of humor, and as such, does He ever have a shocking dose of reality awaiting these fools and Lucifer followers........." He who laughs last, laughs best !!! "

1 Why do the nations rage,
And the people plot a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves,
And the rulers take counsel together,
Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,
3 “Let us break Their bonds in pieces
And cast away Their cords from us.”

4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh;
The Lord shall hold them in derision.
5 Then He shall speak to them in His wrath,
And distress them in His deep displeasure:
6 “Yet I have set My King
On My holy hill of Zion.”

7 “I will declare the decree:
The Lord has said to Me,
‘You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.
8 Ask of Me, and I will give You
The nations for Your inheritance,
And the ends of the earth for Your possession.
9 You shall break them with a rod of iron;
You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’ ”

10 Now therefore, be wise, O kings;
Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear,
And rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry,
And you perish in the way,
When His wrath is kindled but a little.
Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.
(Psalm 2)

The Lord does laugh at the rebellious fools, but it isn't a joyful laughter.

Oscar • 3 years ago

Well, the Jesus as described in the NT
was not a comedian, and He never said
anything similiar to what you claim. God
created man with a sense of humor, and
the Bible does record God once laughing
at the heathens raging, but it was not as
you describe.

cjmcd • 3 years ago

I don't recall my calling "my Jesus" being a comedian, but.... And, of course, I did not follow Him step for step throughout his life, but judging from some of my antics throughout my life, he had to have a sense of humor, otherwise..... Have you ever heard the clause, "...here, hold my beer and watch this one! " ? That was me talking to friend and Savior.

paulrod • 3 years ago

Poor Barack Hussein Ozymandias (go look it up), he'll never live down that stupid "clinging to (what was it anyway? clinging to their Bibles, guns, and whatever"? That one sentence will probably be his historical legacy, for as long as people can remember who he was - or tired to be.

Hope. Hope, as offered by Christianity, is the other thing that the leftists want to stamp out so none of their despairing 'slaves' to the gov't (of evil) have any aspiration to a better life than the misery they offer.

JtC • 3 years ago

Biblical hope is assurance -assurance of the things to come just like God's Word says they will. We know how the story ends, and ain't it grand!

At some point, we true Patriots will draw a line in the sand and say: "Enough". What will follow will be on their heads. All those "useful idiots". Then, all our Eotechs will begin to get their exercise. The one thing these fools do not understand is that there are a lot more of us than there are of them. And, we all know how to defend ourselves. In addition of the NH motto: "Live Free or Die", we need to recall the flag with the motto: "Don't tread on Me".

Every concession made by people who consider themselves reasonable and decent will be met by demands for further concessions.

Remember that next time you feel the urge to "reach across the aisle" to your "good friends" on hte other side. I'm talking to you, Republican RINO "leadership"!

Sloan Bashinsky • 3 years ago

So, what color skin do you suppose Jesus in the Gospels wore? And how about his eyes and his hair, what color do you suppose they were? I have spoken with a number of African-American Christians about that. They did not think Jesus was white, blond or blue-eyed. I don't think such people lived in that part of the world back then. As least not in history books I read.

Oscar • 3 years ago

Point?
Or just being paid by the word?
Explain.

Sloan Bashinsky • 3 years ago

Jesus' message was universal. It was for ALL women, too. Regardless of skin color, place of birth, personal history. That said, why has it been so important, apparently, for Christendom to portray Jesus as white, blue-eyed and blond, when there were no such people in that part of the world back then? That's a really fair question.

"One can vote for civilization, the Constitution, the Rule of Law, and freedom of religion — or one can vote for Democrats."
Amen. The Democrats who blatantly "booed" the mention of God in their desire to exclude Him from their party platform at their most recent presidential nominating conventions. Thank you, Mr Ahlert, for so clearly and succinctly delineating the crux of the presidential election this November.

Sloan Bashinsky • 3 years ago

Funny, I blame God and angels of the Lord for the way I am today, the awful things they put me through, which changed how I viewed pretty much everything, and I got booed by church people, Republicans, Democrats, etc. Today, I was roundly booed in reader comments under Nate Jackson's face mask article in this issue of The Patriot Post. I think if people were put through what I and a few other people I knew were put through, and it's unceasing, there would be an entirely different view of God, Jesus, angels, etc. on this planet. Perhaps many people would come to wish there was no God. But then, Jesus said in the Gospels that his baptism was not in water, but in fire and spirit. In the Letter to the Hebrews, the the author, unknown, according to many Bible scholars, tells the audience they should be eating meat and teaching, but they are still drinking milk. The author warns the audience of the peril of turning away from the cleansing of the Lord, and exhorts the audience to return to the discipline that was so hard on them. The author speaks of Melchizedek and its priesthood forever, and Jesus was high priest in Melchizedek. I never once heard any of that told or discussed in a church, and I attended a lot of church services. I never heard these things Jesus said in the Gospels all strung together: Steep is the way, narrow the gate, and few enter therein; Many are called but few are chosen; The work is great and the laborers are few. In the Gospels, Jesus often spoke of works and deeds, and of what people aid and did and didn't do or say. How people lived seemed really important to Jesus in the Gospels. And to his disciples, after they received the Holy Ghost and were grown into adults and began their own ministries - those who were not killed. I came to view salvation through Jesus as relative to living as he lived and taught. I came to see God is in all religions, and outside of religion, and no religion has a lock on God. And that God loves every person, even the worst behaving people, but God also wants people to grow and change, and that seemed to be Jesus' desire in the Gospels. That people grow and change. I think pretty nearly everyone who leaves this life finds it a bit different than what they thought before they got there.

YIKES!

We seem to have a serious problem with anti-Christ privilege.

Oscar • 3 years ago

Since Western Civilization is synonymous with Christianity,
of course it is the big prize. And anyone who thinks the
author's claim is wrong has not been paying attention.
If civilization is to be destroyed, Christ must first go.
