But for the 10,237th time, the FBI did NOT rely on the Steele dossier to get the FISA warrant, and no judge would have accepted uncorroborated material. They stated in the FISA request that not all was corroborated, but it was in no way the only evidence. The FBI had already been watching Carter Page (as I understand it, for years). They had their own evidence.

H Shepard • 3 months ago

To believe think you are privy to the warrant is ludicrous. HRC DNC FBI CNN all DIRTY!

Again, you know not of what you speak. There is a new investigation going on, right? The only energy your side has is comes from an investigation that is over. Unless you count the claim that I elected "I will cure Cancer and kill babies". It's the economy stu!!! Right?

"In her typed summary, Kavalec wrote that Steele told her the Russians had constructed a “technical/human operation run out of Moscow targeting the election” that recruited emigres in the United States to “do hacking and recruiting.”

Didn't the Mueller investigation essentially prove these points. There might have been a slight error in describing the Russian agents sent to and working on this operation as emigres. But I guess the Miami Consulate thing is reason to ignore the fact that Steele's representation of Russian interference is essentially proven by Mueller.

smcase77 • 4 months ago

The Miami Consulate thing is not in the Steele dossier. The dossier just says Russian diplomats were using some kind of "pension" scheme to distribute money in Miami and some other cities where there are a lot of Russian emigres.

It's possible Kavalec was wrong in her recollection of what Steele said, or that Steele later clarified this point.

Either way, Solomon is making a mountain out of nothing.

Keyser Soze • 4 months ago

Hillary, the DNC, and the FBI paid Steel to create the fake dossier. That is now a known fact, no matter how many times you remove it.

RageFury • 4 months ago

Fascinating that The Hill would delete a comment like this:
'“Payments to those recruited are made out of the Russian Consulate in Miami,”
Where is the Miami Russian consulate?'

Does The Hill hate questions that challenge the leftist farcical #TrumpRussia narrative?

JohnTheRevelator • 4 months ago

Russia implements a "Sweeping and Systematic" ATTACK on the US election. Trump associates have 140 contacts w/ Russians and Russian operatives. Trump and Republicans are upset that they were a part of the investigation.

America is very broken -- Putin must be proud of his accomplishment.

blessed56 • 4 months ago

The FISA court was smart enough to know that political opposition likely meant the DNC or the Clinton campaign. The opposition origins were disclosed. Only some - not all - of the Steele Report has been contradicted.

gr8danedoc • 4 months ago

Hey Solomon you got duped AGAIN. By UKRAINE.
We expect a retraction.
This is why you're an opinion writer- cmon the Hill do some fact checking.

Did you read your link?
"Larysa Sargan, a spokeswoman for the prosecutor general, denied that Lutsenko or anyone in his circle had written such a letter. The pages, which were reviewed by Bloomberg News, didn’t include dates or information about the sender or addressee, and their authenticity couldn’t be verified."

Believing unverified sources again? Ruh roh...

Popadopolous got prison for getting a date wrong. Why does Steele get to lie to the FBI about his media contacts with no legal jeopardy? Apparently "lying" to the FBI is fine and dandy as long as you're a fellow traveler.

You seem to be just fine with lying.

Anyone else ever see an article stay front and center on the Hill for FIVE days? No, neither do I, just Solomon shite peices still talking about Carter Page and the Dossier.

What a joke.

Sooner or later since the Dems jumped the shark....The worm turns and the hot stories are about FBI Corruption. You watch. Money is where the media goes. Right now they sniff only a very very vague hint of blood in the water. Not yet enough BUT it is interesting.

The Mueller Report did not clear trump of anything. His hand picked stooge Barr said he did not do anything. What is the reason they don't want people to see the full report. There is something in there that trump wants to hide from the citizens. And the rethuglicans are always saying it was debunked.Half of the ones who use the word are too dumb to understand what it means.Barr did the debunking at trumps orders. You can't hide it forever.

The Steele Dossier is NOT what started the Russia-Trump campaign investigation
https://www.factcheck.org/2...

The Papadopoulos affair started the formal FBI investigation in July 2016. Both the Nunes memo (which started the FISA nonsense) and the Democratic counter-memo agree on this point. That was more than seven weeks before the Dossier was given to the FBI.

The British spy agency GCHQ knew of Trump campaign's contacts with Russia in 2015 and reported same to the FBI. So did other European agencies.
https://www.theguardian.com...

So, as usual, Solomon's partisan fake opinion piece is going down a fake rabbit hole.

Treasonous lies, the Steele Dossier has already been proven more than 90% correct and even the few errors were not that important. Thew Steele Dossier was pretty much raw intelligence direct from Kremlin insiders. It proved Putin himself commanded the attack on our election to hurt hillary and to promote Trump. Also, Steele had no idea who he was working for and for the first half of his job, GOP donors funded him, not democrats. That only changed after Trump clinched the nomination six months later. And it is irrelevant who paid for it since Steele himself was completely neutral. Also the pone who walked the Steele Dossier into the FBI was John McCain, not a democrat.

What has been proven correct? Or is your entire comment supposed to be sarcasm?

BeeCensored_AGAIN • 4 months ago

WOW you are deeply invested in the media/ Democrat bullsht .You're going to have a LOT to deal with as more of the truth comes out. You thnk you can make the transition to reality?

You gonna move to Canada? That would be nice. Go out of the country to live out your fantasy. It might be healthier for you, no FOX or The Hill. Isolation could be good for you. Move Into the mountains and eat berries and drink stream water. Purge your soul of us "Deplorables" and our "lies". I heard HIllary may move there and run for parliament.
