When do they offer courses on the koran as well? You have to be f*cking kidding me about this? What part of "separation of church and state" do these inbred hicks not understand?

The Judge • 6 years ago

If the Christian kids get to study the Bible I demand my child be allowed to spend his time reading Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.

Common Man • 6 years ago

This stupidity is beyond uncomparable.

kahnkeller • 6 years ago

look at history... the good christains nut jobs have been doing this type of terrorism for over 2,000 years.... time for payback...

lanimilbus • 6 years ago

People who up-vote themselves should refrain from accusations of stupidity.

kahnkeller • 6 years ago

I up vote excellence...imagine my surprise when I read something and I up vote it...and I am the author...I am very impressed....you...would not qualify to up vote...

lanimilbus • 6 years ago

Apparently "excellence" excludes knowing how to use an ellipsis.

Punkrockbilly • 6 years ago

He's better off reading those, anyway.

this is what would happen in a christain theocracy...then they would start burn you on crosses...like they are doing to witches in africa.....

Chemistry so they can upgrade their meth labs. Isn't it obvious?

Imagine how the Deplorables will freak out when the true history of the neo-Abrahamist scourge is laid out end to end. :D

Taxpayer money shouldn't be going towards ANYTHING pertaining to organized religion, no matter which one.

hbcugrad_hu • 6 years ago

Actually, that's exactly what it is. As a Catholic, there is no way on earth I would entrust this to any public school. Especially since this is literally part of the mission of Catholic schools.

lanimilbus • 6 years ago

And I'm sure you'd say the same if it was the Koran.

Rasta Bomb • 6 years ago

Then I'm sure you'll have no problem when I start teaching a class on Islam, right?

Right?

Hello??

Bueller?!?

Guest • 6 years ago
hbcugrad_hu • 6 years ago

And that's exactly where it belongs. In a private school.

Depends on if it's a critical dispassionate academic study, or a thinly-veiled way to get prosletyzing in schools legally.

While #1 is nice, I suspect #2.

Common Man • 6 years ago

Christian Sharia Law shouldn't be implemented in schools.

Moose McNuggets • 6 years ago

But no science requirement, right?

Don't forget Lord of the Rings. The children need to learn the evil of Sauron and how they can earn salvation by destroying the one true ring.

Bobbybooblay • 6 years ago

That would be top of my book list

kahnkeller • 6 years ago

and star wars for THE FORCE......

jmorris • 6 years ago

Isn't that a valid Religion in England? Jediism or something.

Tom • 6 years ago

All things considered it may not be the worst idea for people to learn about other world religions, but yeah no Jesus on my dime!

Good for them.

We're talking about public schools and the Constitution.

U.S. Madrasas to teach White Nationalist Christianity

Kowboy4Life • 6 years ago

I have a sneaky feeling this same folks would be up in arms if the school offered a class to study the Koran.

Rev. Stephen Smithe • 6 years ago

Or any other religion, even actual Christianity, this is about evangelical indoctrination, nothing more.

As a Mandated Class. Like Bible Study.

Rock Paste • 6 years ago

I don't see anything wrong with teaching magic in schools.

As an atheist brought up Christian, religious texts are incredibly good historic documents, and should be taught as such. It remains to see if this "course" will be an objective perspective of the bible, or just religious rhetoric.

kahnkeller • 6 years ago

no...only a fool that claims to be an atheist would say something that silly...

hbcugrad_hu • 6 years ago

Actually, he/she has a point. Look at Acts for example. One of the early struggles in the early Christian Church was around whether Christians had to be circumcised. This is historical fact. As is the manner in which the dispute was resolved, which could be used as a comparison to successive debates around policy in society.

Rock Paste • 6 years ago

I'm sorry if you are easily brainwashed, but a historic document is a historic document.

Must be different now. When I was in school the only time the bible was taught was by some witch doctor.

Why do they have to be mutually exclusive?

Guest • 6 years ago
Rock Paste • 6 years ago

Well I agree. They should be included as well.
