Wow. I learned something just now. My wife battled breast cancer so I always gave $$ to Susan G. Komen Foundation. Now that I read they give part of their donations to Planned Parenthood I'm cutting off Komen. I know. I know. PP will say they do Mammograms but I've also recently learned less than half of the PP locations do Mammograms.

From what I've read, Komen is mostly about fundraising and has little to do with cancer research. Their CEO makes more than the Director of the American Red Cross, which is probably dozens of times larger than Komen. I've refused to donate to them for years.

The woman who started Komen was the sister of the woman who died of breast cancer. She has managed to make millions off of her poor sister's death. Sad, but true.

I, too, battled advanced stage breast cancer. God bless your wife. Around here, PP does not do mammograms. They give recommendations as to where you can get them. You can get that info from anyone. PP is an abortion mill, nothing more.

Actually not one PP facility has a mammogram machine. They refer women out. Their main business is killing babies, not saving women's lives.

It's also always a good idea to check out the interests of each member in the boards of directors of ANY charity to which you donate. Using the internet, a person can often find out other corporate and not-for-profit boards they sit on, and sometimes determine their individual politics. Some of them may sit on a dozen different boards of directors with agenda that may be diametrically opposed to one's own morals and concept of ethics (e.g. The Clinton Foundation).
Also remember it's not just the listed salaries they get, they also often receive huge perks.

I'm sorry about your wife and hope she is okay.

As I understand the facts, Planned Parenthood has NO locations licensed to provide mammagrams.

We've lived in several parts of the country and Publix is by far the best store I've ever shopped at. The stores are spotless. I like to shop early and every single time I've gone in at 7 am, there are people moving stuff on the shelves and cleaning them before they're stocked. If you're ever in the south, stop at one. You'll be astonished.

I love Publix! Was at my local Publix this afternoon & it was packed. Looking like Hogg's boycott backfired big time.
