If that is true, can you explain how 98.6% profited from what the slave laborers did? Perhaps you're thinking that the general, non-slaveowning population benefited indirectly by a higher standard of living, etc. Using that logic, you'd have to come to the conclusion that today's African-Americans have also profited from what slave laborers did.
