So what? Will the Tea Party ever get justice? Will the people in the IRS who used the agency to violate the Constitutional rights of Americans ever be removed or even punished?

When this story first broke and public opinion was overwhelmingly in favor of a proper investigation, the GOP leadership should have pounded the table, held up legislation, even shut down Washington until a Special Prosecutor was appointed. Instead they gave us endless hours of feckless hearings full of outrage and grandstanding, but with no true intent to get to the source of the political targeting. All the while hard drives were being lost and ground to bits.

Why? Because the Chamber of Commerce Masters of the GOP hate the Tea Party even more than the Dems do and they do NOT want to do anything that will embolden the movement - but they DO need their votes every two years so they delivered up these hearings to keep them on board.

There is no reason why Sessions can't now call for a true investigation, even an Independent Counsel. With so much evidence destroyed it might not lead to prosecutions, but it would go far in revealing and weeding out the corrupt individuals involved. Who knows? Some people might just flip big time and we might just find the path to the White House we all know existed.

The war on conservatives continues without a pause. Trump got elected shafting conservatives. I seriously doubt he will give up the IRS power now, when the end is finally within sight.

There has never ever been a more corrupt president than obama. It is all slowly coming to a head. I hope they all go to prison.

PM • 7 years ago

They should go to prison, if a military member followed an illegal order they would be hung if it were serious enough and what Obama and his evil henchmen did was highly illegal-and unAmerican.

I think Wilson was worse. But Obama is a close second

I did not write this and I take no credit for it. It’s floating around the internet. But … this is exactly how I feel:
• "I listened as they called my President a Muslim.
I listened as they called him and his family a pack of monkeys.
I listened as they said he wasn't born here.
I watched as they blocked every single path to progress that they could.
I saw the pictures of him as Hitler.
I watched them shut down the government and hurt the entire nation twice.
I watched them turn their backs on every opportunity to open worthwhile dialog.
I watched them say that they would not even listen to any choice for Supreme Court no matter who the nominee was.
I listened as they openly said that they will oppose him at every turn.
I watched as they did just that.
I listened.
I watched.
I paid attention.
Now, I'm being called on to be tolerant.
To move forward.
To denounce protesters.
To "Get over it."
To accept this...
I will not.
I will do my part to make sure this great American mistake becomes the embarrassing footnote of our history that it deserves to be.
I will do this as quickly as possible every chance I get.
I will do my part to limit the damage that this man can do to my country.
I will watch his every move and point out every single mistake and misdeed in a loud and proud voice.
I will let you know in a loud voice every time this man backs away from a promise he made to them.
Them. The people who voted for him.
The ones who sold their souls and prayed for him to win.
I will do this so that they never forget.
And they will hear me.
They will see it in my eyes when I look at them.
They will hear it in my voice when I talk to them.
They will know that I know who they are.
They will know that I know what they are.
Do not call for my tolerance. I've tolerated all I can.
Now it's their turn to tolerate ridicule.
Be aware, make no mistake about it, every single thing that goes wrong in our country from this day forward is now Trump's fault just as much as they thought it was Obama's.
I find it unreasonable for them to expect from me what they were entirely unwilling to give."
Do not expect any quarters here!

Actually, that could have been written by a conservative during 8 years of lies--you can keep your doctor, Benghazi caused by a video, told that elections have consequences, told that a computer was used only for daughter's wedding plans, diversity except if you disagree with Obama's ideology, IRS targeting conservative groups, shovel ready jobs, just clinging to a gun and a bible, told to bring a gun to a knife fight?---please--said the goose to the gander.

Oneinformedvoter • 7 years ago

Actually many conservatives voted for President Trump, and he may not have won without them. Conservatives know that Hillary Clinton was corrupt, and if she took office, America was dead. Many of the establishment Republicans in Congress are moderates who were against Mr. Trump and would have accepted Clinton as president. The 2016 election for president was more complicated than most people think. Democrats who disliked Clinton either had to vote for someone else or stay home. How did that effect Clinton. Many Bernie Sanders supporters were angry that Hillary stole the nomination from Sanders. How many of these people stayed home on election day. Then to think that someone in Russia, who does not think like Americans and does not know all of these things could change the election results is counter to logic. Yet Sen. Schumer and his followers are still beating that drum when an investigation has been going on since July 2016 and no evidence has been found. I guess they still believe the old saying, "Repeat a lie long enough, and eventually people will believe it."

txphotoguy • 7 years ago

The current administration wants to be able to use the IRS to their advantage, just as the previous one did. We are stuck in a cycle of abuse of power until we actually elect those who truly want to limit the government. We blew a golden opportunity in 2016.

Jo Jo • 7 years ago

and exactly where did you get your information? or is that just your personal opinion.... and exactly what golden opportunity in 2016 did we blow? we had 2 choices... Clinton vs Trump... Clinton would have made Obama look like a cake walk.... she is so deep in the corruption she can't even remember a point where she wasn't corrupt.... If President Trump only accomplished half of what he promised we will be 10 times better off that we have for the last 8 years! and that is my own opinion.....

Wri8terofWrongs • 7 years ago

WHAT he meant was we had a golden opportunity to elect a legit, down to earth, SMART true conservative and we blew it. His name is Ted Cruz and he should be our president, unfortunately, idiocracy rules and we needed (apparently) a blow hard instead of a Christian man with real credentials. The people of this country make me SICK in their stupidity. Fluff and name recognition and loud mouth reality star over substance and proven leadership.

Robin Gerry • 7 years ago

Well MY opinion is that we did get the right person elected. I believe that none of this corruption that has been brought to light would have been brought to light without Trump being elected. Cruz is a good man but Trump made the corruption come to light because so many of them hate him. I never cared for the man before he was elected. I felt he was a braggert and a walking ego and a blowhard but he has shown over the years that he really wanted to help this country get back to it's greatness. I just don't think Cruz would have made the impact that Trump has made. Many of the things that went on would not have been shown and we would not be moving in the right direction. We needed to shake up the evil that was going on in Washington. I think we got exactly the right person in the Whitehouse. He is not someone to back down when he gets pushed. We needed this to happen so we can clean out the corruption that has been running our Country. That is just my opinion.

Tygerpath • 7 years ago

I agree with your opinion! The ego that turns so many off is what makes him the proper opponent for the swamp.

Elaine • 7 years ago

Very much remains to be seen whether Trump will be a good president or not. IMO

Joe • 7 years ago

I completely agree with you Robin. I wanted T. Cruz at first too and Trump did make some bad decisions at first due, not to stupidy, but ignorance of situations which were new to him. I still do not like that Learner got off scott free as well as her boss and I truly hope Sessions and Trump cut the IRS down to size quickly as well as the EPA and other gov't. programs that are nothing but fluff with no purpose what so ever. I, like you, feel Trump cannot/willnot be pushed and I am so thankful he is going to watch out for our reglious liberties and the 2nd ammend., and free speech. I am sick and tired of the libs./socialist always getting their way and believe me, I let the Rep. know about it too with phone calls ect.. This new bunch of progressives like Warren and Sanders and many more are no longer Dems. as I once knew them and so no I am and have been for awhile a proud conservative.

InRussetShadows • 7 years ago

He is still a braggart, an adulterer, a liar, and a con man. He has not changed. You have changed. You have adopted your morals to suck up to the person who has the power. Judging from the number of upvotes, you have a lot of fellow-travelers who think that anything can be justified to obtain power. Congratulations. You have the same worldview as a communist.

Albert A Webb • 7 years ago

We talking about Bill Clinton here?

Marvin Nell Florence • 7 years ago

I say your morals are the ones in question. You would vote for the lying scum like, H.R. Clinton, & Hussein Obama. Both of them, and anyone that worked with them are all......crooked as a dogs hind leg!! Ugh!! You want to preach to Republicans about low morals!!!!! You are following the Rules for Radicals to the T. Accuse your opponent of the same thing you are practicing every day. Did you even read the article about the IRS scandal?

gage • 7 years ago

Just how pure are you. We didn't elect a priest or a a pastor. Remember Bill Clinton, Jack Kennedy? Go President Trump!

Wri8. . .I, too, was and am a Cruz man. However, we have Trump for the next number of years. There is no value in crying over "spilt" milk. We must go forward from where we are. Cruz will be back, but for now we must support Donald Trump. He is a far sight better than Hillary would have been.

Tomahawk • 7 years ago

That's BS.

Trudi • 7 years ago

Except Cruz never had a chance to win over Hilly, Your a old fool.

eric cartman 13 • 7 years ago

OMG NOT TED CRUZ U DIDNT JUST SAY THAT LOL PRESIDENT TRUMP IS THE BEST PRESIDENT IN HISTORY PERIOD !!

Trudi • 7 years ago

You too need lots of mental help. The election is over. Obama & Hilly are 2 of the most corrupt people ever to live in politics. Read the article. Obama weaponized the IRS against good people.

txphotoguy • 7 years ago

We blew our opportunity in the primary. We had two of the best candidates of the past 50 years in terms of a background of acting in favor of a constitutionally small government in Paul and Cruz. We had another in Rubio who had the potential to be a small government president. Instead we chose a lifelong New York liberal progressive whose unfavorability polling was so high he almost lost to the worst democrat candidate of the past 100 years. Even given the lost opportunity in the primary, if you think we had two choices in November, you are part of the problem. Castle would have been a much better president in acting for a constitutionally small government. Those like yourself whose loyalty is to the party rather than the constitution will be the downfall of our republic, just as Washington predicted.

Paul R Evere • 7 years ago

Sadly we blew 2012, my friend. Paul was screwed. And later, (2016) Rand couldn't close. TRUMP is blowing it up, and I'm loving it. The NWO is being exposed more and more each day. #MAGA

Guest • 7 years ago
txphotoguy • 7 years ago

Wow. You are exactly the reason we blew the opportunity in the primary. Cruz's "embarrassing" actions after the primary were to urge Republicans to vote their conscience and principles. Paul actually tried to live up to the promise by repealing the unconstitutional Obamacare without replacing it with the equally unconstitutional Donaldcare. Now he has the cajones to claim that even the great and mighty reality tv star must adhere to the Constitution and get congressional approval before personally declaring war. A war he repeatedly promised to keep us out of, by the way. Yes, Brother, we blew the opportunity for a return to the Constitution and greatness exactly because celebrity crotch sniffers like yourself were hellbent on electing their own Obama to get even with the Democrats who ran roughshod over the Constitution for the past eight years. In doing so, you not only proved yourself a loser, but promised the nation will continue further down the losing path to self-destruction.

Robin Gerry • 7 years ago

Oh so that's what we did? No one was trying to get even with anyone. Nice way to put words in other peoples mouths. Those of us who voted for Trump did so because the lifetime politicians have screwed us every way they could and we are sick of it. Stop putting words in other peoples mouths. You have no idea what other people are thinking.

txphotoguy • 7 years ago

Maybe you weren't trying to get even. A huge number of Trump's base were and still are. Read any breitbart article late in the primary and during the general election. Go to the comments and you will find thousands of comments that back my statement. Open your eyes and ears. Listen to people or read their statements and you won't have to put words in their mouth. They state their motivation quite clearly.
If you really could decipher Trump's contradictory statements on every issue and discern what he would really do and you support that, great. Good for you. Stand by him when he acts as you believe he should. Hold him accountable when he doesn't. But please pay attention to him. Don't just back him because you hate Hillary and the lifetime politicians. Since I made that statement, Trump has done a 180 on some very key campaign statements. Do you back his new evolution? If yes, why? Because he changed your mind, or because he's not a lifetime politician. Think about it because his new stance on the fed, the import/export bank, NATO, and Syria all match the stance of those lifetime politicians who have been scre wing us for years.

You obviously didn't listen to Cruz's speech. 10 minutes explaining how Hillary and the Dems do not represent the values that made America great. Cruz's sin was that he did not fall to his knees and kiss Trump's ring. A position you obviously embrace.

InRussetShadows • 7 years ago

My ballot had multiple choices - at least five. I'm sorry your ballot was the runt of the litter and only had two. But before that, the GOP primary voters chose Trump instead of a multitude of better choices - Paul and Cruz among them.

If only that serial liar gets accomplished what he said he was going to do...like send Hillary to prison?

You never even knew you had a better choice, did you?

Nonsese; the IRS will never work for Trump like they did for Obama.. They are just a harassment arm of the DNC now.

Oregonpapa • 7 years ago

But wait ... I thought the IRS was the collection arm of the Federal Reserve.

Paul R Evere • 7 years ago

I fear you are right. F*ckers. :(

Shad_ow • 7 years ago

Not worse than I thought. I knew he was evil before he was elected the first time. The 2nd time showed how ignorant the American people are.

Oregonpapa • 7 years ago

I'm with you, Shad. I had Obama's number from the time he shook hands with Joe the Plumber and made that comment about spreading the wealth around. The guy is a freakin' communist.
