No visit can fix the problems of the occupied area:

"The economic disparity between the two communities is pronounced. Although the economy operates on a free-market basis, the lack of private and government investment, shortages of skilled labor and experienced managers, and inflation and the devaluation of the Turkish lira continue to plague the economy."

One Hopes that Erdogan's Turkey "will defend the Turkish Cypriots’ rights to the end", as he says.

...and what of the "Cypriot Turks" who are so dependent on him for their own existence?

Turks and Greeks have only to stand as one, the People, in Cyprus, to give him Hope.

...what is the Problem? "Greekness" or, "Turkishness"? They are the same. Such as it is, today, "Greekness" has been defeated, while Turkey has never been more divided, because such dogmas exclude those who are not "them". Erdogan knows this, and he may choose again to board the train he calls "Democracy"; a BBF in Turkey is not anathema to a Caliphate existing in Istanbul. He knows this too.

...while the political elite in Cyprus continue to defend themselves (personally), it seems more a malaise affecting this class of people around the world. But i am hopeful. Such a man as Erdogan may choose, and with a small change in intentions he may find the tarnish staining Turkey's presence removed. In effect, Turkey cannot be "Turkish", just like Cyprus cannot be "Greek"; they are States, based on Universal Principals which defend our Individual Equality. Such as it is he has two years to make this kind of History, in time for Turkey's Centennial.

...indeed, at another level of government, as Constituencies, both countries would be better off having them.

The question remains, will Cypriots have "Picnics" (before his arrival), i hope so; will Erdogan (again)?

Why shouldn't he visit his "adopted children "?
Why shouldn't he pop over to see if his puppet,Tartar is following instructions to the letter?
Why shouldn't he pop over to discuss how many more Mosques he wants to build?
Why shouldn't he pop over and make his threats in person ,to the TCs?
Maybe he's got sacks full of potatoes and onions for them,as a thank you,for voting in his ventriloquist's dummy Tartar.

The " president of Turkey is visiting Cyprus" and ? So what?
Why would the EU care? It wasn't that long ago when he was here, making a fool of himself trying to have a 'picnic 'in the rain.
Why are you wetting your knickers?? Little things please little minds, H.

He will deliver some faulty Chinese vaccines and order Covid19 to go away. The EU likes that.

It is a shame that your Pseudo Motherland can’t help you, because they are Bankrupt, just like you.

kibrisli erdogan • 2 years ago

I don’t know where the occupied area is so I am unable to comment

JesusisLord • 2 years ago

U know, the stolen bits north of the green line

Odin Thor • 2 years ago

It's sort of north of the green line.

kibrisli erdogan • 2 years ago

So you mean North Cyprus the TRNC?

JesusisLord • 2 years ago

No such entity

Odin Thor • 2 years ago

I am unable to comment since I don't know of either inventions of Turkish imagination.

kibrisli erdogan • 2 years ago

Then i have absolutely have no idea where the occupied area,
It’s not written in the world Map either so it must be a imaginary Greco place unknown to human kind

Odin Thor • 2 years ago

This might refresh your memory from 2007 when you pretended to still have an economy:

"Imports: $1.2 billion, f.o.b. (2007 est.);

Import - commodities: vehicles, fuel, cigarettes, food, minerals, chemicals, machinery;

Import - partners: Turkey 60%; direct trade between the area administered by Turkish Cypriots and the area under government control remains limited;"

No time limit,
,
Little you know Kibris was sorted out 1974,
It’s game over and no unification

Odin Thor • 2 years ago

I would say, a few more decades and the game will be over as far as your "occupation" of EU territory.

kibrisli erdogan • 2 years ago

I have land in Paphos and a lot of it and it’s occupied by GCs
,
Is that occupied land?
What is your definition of Occupation?
,
Upto 1930 the British had given 38k Dunoms of TURKISH Ottoman land to the GC for free,
Is this land now also occupied by GCs?

Dr Andreas Michael • 2 years ago

Just like the north where it is completely occupied by the Turks and TC all 32% of Cyprus land.

kibrisli erdogan • 2 years ago

No occupation
That is only a Greco Term

kibrisli erdogan • 2 years ago

There is something to be said about that. Consider if Turkey is able to push CY into a 2 state solution. The north may like it initially until Turkey Annexes the north and makes it part of Turkey. This give Turkey mineral and gas rights and could claim right of way in the eastern med more so than Greece or the RoC gov. Good play on their part but it would leave the people in the north in a bad place in the end as they would ultimately be ruled Ankara but not considered Turkish I would imagine! For the south it could be looked at as actually loosing the war and giving in to Turkish demands! Hard to say!

"I mean post 74 and their siblings, Anatolians and their siblings are not Cypriots"

Now that shows your back minded and racist mind. You have EU Citizens whom are NOT Cypriot citizens living, perhaps now even born in Cyprus since 2004. Those "Anatolian" people born in let's say 1975 would now be well over the age 40+, perhaps even now having Children of their own. They are citizens of Northern Cyprus [Cyprus] too. it goes to show how impractical the Greek Cypriot approach to a solution is now exhausted and unrealistic. ALL peoples, citizens of Northern Cyprus born and raised are peoples of this land - period, no compromise. This is where the UN and other nations laugh at your leaders when they talks about POST 1974 as if it is two years ago. It has been over FOUR decades mate! And, within that time it was the Greek Cypriot administration whom has rejected over 19 plus UN plans.

As I said previously. In the absence of a Resolution after more than Four decades of time wasting by your GC leaders, you have fallen into the very political turmoil you've created. Hence, why Northern Cyprus will eventually be annexed as I see no compromise of a Two State formula from your Spoilt Children of the South.

"Post 74"......LOL.....that truly is the laugh of the century. You lot truly are deluded. Northern Cyprus has over 500'000 Citizens of Turkey settled in Cyprus from 1974 and you want them all to return? Return where? They were born in Cyprus, and now their Children, and some even grandchildren were born here.........you Greek Cypriots are funny!

Point taken MrH
I am with you on this issue as I said all along for years that the intentions of the ROC towards the TCs has never been “Sincere”
,
Most of the Greco Post here are about attempting to Divide the TC from our Main Land Turkish brothers,
,
They think we are si11y and we cant read between the lines,
As to what they really mean!!
“old saying in the book”
“Divide to Conquer”
,
If we can not have our remote independence then I support Turkey to Annex Kibris and replace the 74th state of Turkey “As Kibris”
,
As far as I am concerned the EU and the UN has not treated us TC as Equals to the GCs

kibrisli erdogan • 2 years ago

EU has made promises to the TRNC
Where is the delivery of the promise?

Odin Thor • 2 years ago

The EU has never made any promises to a community, except that it belongs to the ROC and once EU law is obeyed there would be investment money for you.

kibrisli erdogan • 2 years ago

Annan plan?
We said Yow,
GC said Nain,
,
Where is the EU Promise ?

Odin Thor • 2 years ago

The EU promise is that only a positive referendum on the entire island will ever save you from your Turkish prison.

kibrisli erdogan • 2 years ago

So the idea behind Annan plan was to accept the GC wishes,
,
GC way or highway?
Your lucky it’s not someone like me in the leadership of the TRNC as I would have told you Greco and EU where to go from Day Dot
