Lacks class? What about this Ms. Kelly?

http://www.mkellyfitness.co...

Do you really consider yourself a legit candidate? I place your interest up there with Kinky Freedman for Gov and Austin's ICONIC Leslie (RIP) the cross dresser for Mayor. What is your platform again (my question before anything that Stillwell put out there) Jack of all trades and a master of....? Taken from your own website:

"Mackenzie is a fitness model, certified firefighter, disaster scientist, recovering Gov't employee, blogger, Social media superhero, and all around #badass. She's the brain and awesomeness behind M Kelly Fitness"

I think you like (and need) the attention and hope to land it big by over exposure where ever you can get it and by networking with people who actual add value to something....you? I don't know what value your campaign is actually offering. You play it cool and reserved like you are above the same bs your friend Romeo Rose dishes out, but lets face it - you are becoming the Kim Kardashian of D6, not even Austin.

Come on, it was okay to poke fun at her when she first burst on the scene in a whirl of Wonder Woman Ass-Signin'. Now the only appropriate thing to say is Bless Her Heart.

It's interesting that the first wiff of the Turd Stillwell was when he filed a complaint against Ms.Kelly for tweetering her intention to run before o-ficially filing the necessary paperwork with the city. Like the carping about Wiley (and now Flanigan, apparently) for being a "carpetbagger" from faraway River Place is not just eye-rollingly sad and pathetic, it get's to the heart of why the Turd is not fit for office: he stands for nothing.

Should not all candidates focus more on what they intend to do for the city? Disqualifying one for being a single mother? Really?

Mackenzie Kelly, bless her heart is this election's hot mess.

My parents live in District 6 and we've been watching her story closely. These are the things I told my parents to question about her:

- Mackenzie Kelly jumped on the #GamerGate bandwagon to drive off negativity about her affiliation with Romeo Rose. Prior to that she never mentioned any interest or affiliation.
- Mackenzie Kelly bought Romeo Rose a birthday cake and was his guest of honor at his birthday "free cocaine" party.
- Mackenzie Kelly started at thread at the "Shaggy Bevo" sports bulletin board counting down her "8 days to new boobs." After getting her breast job she posted photos of her bare breasts on that same forum.
- There are photos online of Mackenzie Kelly as "CamGirl" Faith in her g-string.
- Mackenzie Kelly faked a broken arm for sympathy, and stole an X-ray from an online source to prove same.
- Mackenzie Kelly claimed to take out a restraining order against Romeo Rose, but soon after was his guest of honor at his birthday party.
- Mackenzie Kelly sent her texts with Romeo Rose and his personal information including photos of his identification cards to a blog so they would write bad things about him so she would look better about their affiliation.

There is a blog that has all this stuff about her or you can read about her at that Shaggy Bevo forum. It's easy enough to look it up.

I don't live in Austin anymore but my entire family does. As someone with interests in Austin this is extremely worrisome.

These are some serious accusations. Can you provide links to these forum entries? (If they contain nudity, leave them out, pls)

Here's some of that stuff:

But, really, if you've seen her speak in public you can't help but feel sorry for her. Bless her heart.

Eagleeye595 • 9 years ago

Here is the typical male attitude, oh no she can't be a legit candidate, she is too pretty, she is too good to be true... well I happen to know one thing about her that would make me vote for here in a heartbeat. she's got guts, more guts then some men I have known. She is willing to stand up, for what is right, and fight for the truth. Even when an angry mob is threatening her life for having dared to speak out.

Take The Cannoli • 9 years ago

I don't think "she's too pretty" is the main takeaway when you see Mackenzie speak. I think it's laudable that she has an itch (don't) for public service. But might I suggest volunteering some more rather than running for office.

I wasn't aware that being a single mom or modeling was relevant to a vote :\

ArronaxGER • 9 years ago

I read the article and wanted to say some words in regards of Kelly Mackenzie. I also want to add that i got to know her because of her commitment for #GamerGate. My impression is referring to her actions respective to it.

Kelly Mackenzie already showed a lot of sure instinct and tact while agitating within the #GamerGate movement which is a ideologic powder-keg by now. Nevertheless, she achieved to create a dialogue between the two sides of the issue which is worth a mention itself considering how deadlocked the discussion is at times.

Her affinity to modern pop-culture in the form of participating in comic-cosplays displayed a understanding for young people older candidates may lack. Her being a single mom or modeling in sports-clothes never had an impact on her deliberate way of dealing with issues in my opinion.

Desperate times.... like this article? At least TALK about the candidates stances on issues. Jeez. Way to miss mentioning that Mackenzie is also a heroine firefighter! Good luck on Election Day!

On a serious note, I still disagree with Wiley on a bunch of stuff, but he continues to impress me as a person. If he does get elected, I hold out hope that he really work with other Council members & that they will make an effort to work with him. That said, I'd vote for Flannigan probably, but Wiley has done better than I expected, I'm impressed.

Take The Cannoli • 9 years ago

You're holding out a false hope. While he's not as ham-fisted as Stillwell, Wiley has his own dog whistle his blowin'. He's intent on making a name for himself by staking out the "conservative" position on all city matters. Just listen to him talk.

It's no accident that his rented digs are in Wilco -- and therefor in John Carter's district. John Carter isn't getting any younger and I'm not sure having a council member whose just trying to make a name for himself to run for Congress -- or Texas House or Senate if John Carter refuses to die or have sex with a congressional aide -- will lead to much consensus. And electing just who the rest of the city expects us to will lead directly to the rest of the city continuing to treat us like shit and ignore us except when it's time to pay taxes.

Electing Wiley won't improve our position one inch.

Oh Man! Thank God! I was reading this article & it was getting further & further down the page and it was criticizing a democrat and quoting and praising Jay Wiley and then talking about a different democratic candidate being fired years ago and then returning to criticizing the first one again and I was getting really really worried.

I was thinking, what the heck are the world-class complainers that infest the comments on this site going to bitch about? They need something. Will it be SxSW again - just a full non-sequitor? Or maybe how the Chronicle is in the tank for the Far Left, or almost as good, the Chronicle is in the tank for the corporate-controlled Democratic establishment. Or maybe the Chronicle svengali's the Council again - that's always a good one. ...

I mean, none of those classics really work very well for this article. I was drawing a blank and I was almost at the end of the article & then ... just beautiful ... I saw your carpetbagger comment. Absolutely Classic! Nice job! You stayed on topic with Wiley, you completely ignored all the Chronicle attacking Democrats and praising Wiley and then, kudos, just brilliant, you throwback to an old completely factual non-biased Chronicle article that clearly was written to cover an election complaint and which explained the facts properly, and then you just bust out with "carpetbagger". Wow. That's genius. I am in awe, I just couldn't do something like that. You guys - the complainers and anti-Chronicle types (who spend all their time on the Chronicle - go figure) are just logic contortionists of the highest caliber.

I salute you.

To be fair, if Stillwell hadn't turned out to be a incompetent turd, he would have been endorsed by this rag. He was the preferred downtown candidate -- until he opened his mouth and (I shit you not) read from index cards at the candidate's forums (fora?). If you have to read your closing statement from an index card it's time to go back to selling homeowner's insurance FULL TIME.

The only good thing to come out of this is that the downtown estab will not be getting their "boy" even if Jimmy somehow pulls out the upset. Here's hoping for 51% tomorrow.

Guest • 9 years ago

Now that I'm out of the election, I'm allowing myself to read the comments. Ouch! Incompetent turd? That hurts my feelings. You're a piece of work, Canoli. Get a life.

Take The Cannoli • 9 years ago

If that is you Matt then I guess it's not surprising you don't get past the first sentence before firing off an snippy retort. I may be a piece of work, for sure, but I also didn't stand up and proclaim I wanted to be a humble servant of the people. I and I certainly didn't do it reading index cards.

When it was just you and Wiley -- you had me at hello. The simple fact that your stated positions were more in line with what D6 needs was a starting point that, if it wasn't for everything you said and did since, would have you today getting ready to defeat Zimmerman in December.

Then you started campaigning.

Also, with regards to me getting a life, I'd like to think that if I had spent the last 3 months of my life showing my ass and wasting everyone's time I would be a bit more resolved not to answer comments on a website for a birdcage liner. But that's just me.

I would give you that, reasonably, one could think it was the stress of the campaign that brought out some unfortunate tendencies you exhibited in your communication choices and public speaking appearances. As I mentioned elsewhere, it's a bad sign when Don Zimmerman ends up looking like a more reasonable person than you -- and Mackenzie Kelly seems more genuine and thoughtful on the issues (Bless her heart).

But, here you are (if that's you), even though your neighbors have rated your petulant performance a loser, and even though you lowered yourself to gay-baiting and picking on poor Mackenzie, you still don't seem to get it. One would have thought there would be a sober re-examination. "Where, exactly, did I start acting like a turd?"

But no. Even after you were given the message loud and clear about your campaign, it's very telling that you made a point of affirmatively stating you won't be endorsing anyone ("hurumph!") as you take your ball and go home.

Jay Wiley, a man I don't agree with on a lot of stuff, a man, like you, who is clearly on the make and saw D6 as a way to raise profile and possibly take a house seat down the road, still managed to have simple human dignity. He's not endorsing anyone either -- but he didn't feel the need to use it as cudgel to lash out at the people who ran a more successful campaign.

Though if I were Jimmy I wouldn't give a shit for your endorsement anyway.

So, maybe "turd" seems a bit much to you, such is cognitive dissonance.

But it's well earned.

leftturnsignal • 9 years ago

Zombie Village, like Matt Stillwell's self-designed misogynistic and gay-baiting mail piece, is out there to attack everyone else not named Matt Stillwell. Which, given the account's comment history, places it in the 90%+ certainty category of being Stillwell's campaign manager. I think the only thing that surprised me is that this came from a supposed Democrat- and not Don Zimmerman.

Take The Cannoli • 9 years ago

Might be the turd Stillwell himself. He's apparently proud of the fact he produced this handbill all by himself.
