Joe first noticed a similar body at the end of December 2021, only it was gray.

Probably the same body, the previous one was unpainted. Although I am willing to believe Giga Texas is close to producing Model Y cars, I don't regard this sighting as very encouraging. This body was trucked in, presumably from Fremont. If they were making bodies at Texas, why would they test their paint shop with a body from Fremont?

The whole thing could be for public consumption only. Why would just the paint shop be testing and not also GA? Keep in mind that Tesla is at a very delicate point, because of the fact that most buyers would not want a model Y from the Fremont factory once it's know that Texas is making them, so Texas has to hit the ground almost full ramped up to replace Fremont's production to allow for Fremont to be revamped.

Yes, why park it outside?

To misdirect

Maybe this body wasn’t trucked in. Maybe they made it there. They’ve already made entire Model Ys in Texas.

The previous video showed it being unloaded from a truck. There is another possibility I thought of, the body could have been made in Austin, shipped to Fremont for detailed dimensional analysis (I'm speculating they have a laser measuring system there) and then sent back to Austin.

That red paint is beautiful.

Will structural battery packs be easier or about the same to repair? I'm guessing it's too early to tell but any info would be great

Initially at Giga Texas, Tesla will produce Model Y with 2170 battery cells,

Highly unlikely. In fact I think zero possibility. Tesla has installed 8 4680 cell manufacturing lines at Giga Texas. Every indication is that they will start with 4680 cells. 4680 cells made in Fremont will be shipped to Berlin.
